how to use giant puffball mushrooms?

Growing up, we would find them in my parents' woods. But all we ever did was fry them in butter. With 4 of us, there was never enough to go around. But now I have 2 big ones, just for me.

I dehydrated 5 trays of puffball mushroom slices last night in the oven.

But what do I do now? Break them into chunks and store in the pantry?

I was going to use the same vintage blue glass ball jars I use for my dried beans, but they are not exactly airtight. I could make a foam gasket.

I still have a lot more left – I ran out of oven space. Maybe I cut the slices too thin – ½”.

At this point, I don’t know what I want to do with them. Mushroom soup, I suppose, but some kind of spinach / mushroom lasagna has more appeal.

I’m on my own to eat whatever I make with these, I know my husband won’t touch them. So that’s a lot of mushrooms!
