help pick which colorway and shape for area rug (pics)
Comments (9)The living room rug is to large for the sun room but I could use one of the other options (in the larger size) in the living room. How small can an area rug be? I thought the feet of all furniture are suppose to be on an area rug. Is it ok to have a small area rug in a large room? My living room is something like 20'x14" so I thought I would need at least a 9x12 or 10ft round for furniture placement. The round medallian rug only comes in a 6' or 8' round so I am not sure if the scale would work but the colors do and I could buy it in a large rectange tho. thanks for the ideas:) Should I treat the floor like one large room and use two matching area rugs in different sizes or even maybe shapes?...See MoreI'm soo over this kitchen! Comments (46)The panel, bead to bead is just a tad over 16" wide. Yes stiles? (the space in between the beaded panels) is about 1.5". The (fluted) column width is 4" wide. I only added the fluted columns to island (after working w/ designer) since I had 1 fluted column in a clipped corner. It looked a bit lonely in the kitchen. Three fluted columns looked intentional; one looked like a mistake. Just my non-design opinion. It's kinda like the symmetry thing to me. I have 3 entrances/exits in small kitchen. You see the fluted columns when you enter via 2 of the entrances. My hood is a 36" by modernaire. Height is about 21". 34" off the countertop. We didn't want hood too high that it became ineffective, but did not want DH to bump his head. I notice Trevor Lawson has been on lately; he handles all Internet sales of the hood. I got the hood and exhaust guts thru him....See MoreBeautiful style couch but ugly floral print
Comments (66)Thanks guys! I will be slowly changing the place around. I also have a roommate and our tastes clash quite a bit unfortunately. His style is monochromatic and nautical and I'm more bohemian/vintage. I've made the decision to move to a single apartment with darker flooring this summer so I'll make sure to use your ideas in the new place. For now I will just make small adjustments with pillows and rugs. Your ideas have been inspiring and I hope to make an awesome living room....See MoreRug Placement and Color HELP !!
Comments (16)(Tqtqtbw) -I like the rug but I think it’s what initially started my road to warm colors. I would like to get away from all of that and make the room brighter with the grey scale area and maybe some pops of color throughout? -The art on the walls are on the walls just to be on the walls to be quite honest. The art above the zenith has the colors I would to incorporate in the space. I have several items that are glass blown (small scale as the piece on the table). I love art glass and if possible would like to incorporate that into everything. I can take a picture of the collection later. -The dining room rug does have some similar colors but not as much as the rug in the LR. I agree with the small knick-knacks throughout the house. I really love eclectic not every day items. Contemporary items you really wouldn’t typically see in a house. I think that may have been the route of some of the problems here. (PATRICIA) -I agree with the black credenza. I would like to keep it maybe in another room if painted. Addressing the TV and the speakers. The TV will be hung on the wall with the cords hidden in the wall. As far as the speaker encasement, that’s actually the bottom part of the shelving. I’ve attached a picture of the shelf/speaker encasement. The shelf is already built. We’re waiting to paint both (off white) and assemble them on top of each other. The idea is to frame the TV (per request of husband). Regarding the breakfast room, our intention isn’t to use it as a breakfast room because we are in a small space we chose to have a dining room over having another table in the way. It’s just my husband and I....See Morelkloes
