roselee. Your idea about lifting up the posts and setting them on a higher paver is a promising possibility. If the posts are re-set above the rain area and are structurally Ok, I think you have a good chance of saving the set. Try it and allow the posts to fully dry out before you decide either to cut their bottoms and epoxy any rotting areas. You might want to try mixing two colors together to see if you can find the right color. I never have any luck using one color out of the can. Mix in simple ratios: 1 to 3, 2 to 2, 3 to 1 using measuring tablespoons, plastic cups, and spare wood. [label test areas with the ratio used ;) ] Banyan Brown and Hill Country look like they'd be nice mixed or Banyan Brown and Chestnut.

PPF makes some valid points. The house has a collection of mismatched elements from Queen Anne to Craftsman and it needs to be simplified. I don't understand what is going on with the roofs but the posts on stone bases should definitely be modified so they look structural instead of decorative wrappings around a structural post. If the stone bases remain, they and the posts should be more substantial. I would taper the posts whether they are full heignt or on bases. Is there actually a porch? Would it not have a guard railing? Obviously, the beam supporting the porch roof should be continuous.
