Well, we ordered our coach lights today. We will soon order some for the back of the house. Here is what we chose. I appreciate the assistance given. The one below is for the front of the house. It is in oil rubbed bronze -- much browner than in the picture. We ordered two larger ones to go beside the front door, and 3 medium ones (2 on either side of garage door, an one at the garage man door). We concluded that we need coach lights that did not extend too far (not deep ones), so we had to go a different direction. These lights have built in LED lights. The lights are made by Artcraft. Here is the ones we are ordering for the back of the house. There are 4 total along the back which is all one plane (not jogs out).

We are diverse here and there are so many choices. People have very strong opinions about some of these things. Even if you could form a consensus which would mean unity about something about cooking appliances and I can't even think what that would be, there would still be that outlier with unique needs. If you go by just what a majority likes, that would be like going to your health care practitioner with a stomach ache and they tell you I'll just give you this medicine that works for most of my patients. There is so much written in this forum about the features and weaknesses of different burners, fuels, ovens, steam ovens, combi ovens, broilers, grills, griddles, configuration of ovens, rangetops and sizes and placement. You may also go look at the kitchen forum. I would just go down the line and start reading the ones about ranges. A lot of people like BlueStar but some don't like an open burner tray. If you entertain, you might want a oven that hold full commercial sheets or at least two half sheets side by side. One of my biggest regrets was buying a range and wall oven. Some of these appliance types are newer. Read about induction so you can narrow down to gas vs electric for sure. Induction requires its own type of cookware.

Congratulations on your new house! It looks beautiful! Very exciting especially since you are starting fresh with new furniture. This is how I would approach it. Do not repaint now - agree with jck910 -- pick your new paint color when you have chosen most of your furniture and big things like rugs and when they are already in place in your house. You want the stuff in the room when you make your wall color decision. For each room, think about what you will be doing there, how many people usually would be using that room. For example, in the living room -- will you be doing your tutoring there? How many kids at one time? Will there be a TV there? How many people will be hanging out most of the time? Function will determine what kind of furniture you need. Measure everything and create a furniture layout. Maybe start a new post to get input on furniture layout for each room or multiple rooms together if open layout, or continue on this post. For the entire house (or at least the rooms that are in view of each other) - decide how would you like it to feel. For example, do you want it to feel light and airy, colorful and joyful, dark and cozy? Create a Houzz ideabook or pinterest board for each room. Look for commonalities in the pictures that you save. Do you tend to navigate towards bright rooms or dark rooms? Do you like heavier vs lighter looking furniture? Are you more modern or traditional? Based on 2 and 3, create a mood board for each room. Like what HU-187528210 has created for you. Go online shopping and save pictures of furniture you like. Keep the dimensions in mind, always consulting your furniture layout in #2. I don't buy big pieces of furniture that I haven't physically seen and touched. So eventually, you would need to try them out. Once you have picked out your furniture, always a good idea to tape on the floor where they will go so you can get a feel if the size is right. I also like to use empty boxes to visualize in 3-d if the dimensions are right or too big or too small. While your layout in 2D is a starting point, you need to get a real feel for what the furniture would be like in your space. Finishes and color schemes next (or maybe simultaneous with 4 and 5). Example, for sofa, fabric or leather? If leather, cognac or dark brown or black? If fabric, what color - plain or patterned - what kind of fabric? Rugs - do you want them to be in the background or do you want them to make a statement? Consult your Houzz ideabooks/Pinterest boards/ your own mood boards when making selections. Keep going back to # 3 - how do you want your place to feel? Then accent furniture, lighting, window treatments, wall art. Start with the fundamentals (sofa, dining table/chairs) because this whole process can take years! Especially if you are indecisive. Of course, hiring a talented designer who will do this for you will make the process much faster and easier. But if you are like me, I enjoy the journey. Lots of mistakes along the way too (designers should save you from these mistakes) but I think of them as learning experiences. But careful planning should minimize mistakes.

WOW so much different home that I was expecting I cab for sure see those inspo pic used to get a "style" but I agree the eclectic pics Maureen posted are great ideas .It is funny that the house interior is really in my head modern maybe even sneaking up to MCM feel but the exterior is not that at all. I think you can have so much fun with this house if you do not lock into some cluttered up look with those awesome windows and that lovely lot .I did state not my style and I embrace many styles for my clients but not for me. I think the house could be awesome if you do not fill it with too much over the top decor and for sure not with 3 kids where cleaning is daily chore . I will readily admit MCM is my fave style of exterior and interior but thta does not keep me from enjoting other styles in some one elses home . IMO your home should totally reflect what you love always.
