Hi, I asked about this a couple months ago when we started our kitchen. My designer told me I needed to have everything (hardware and faucet) match. I rebeled and after seeing so many beautiful kitchens on this site that didn't follow that rule I decided to go w/ what I wanted. I have oil rubbed bronze hardware w/ a stainless steel (brushed nickel) faucet. I think it looks really great. I'm going to post some pics on here soon. As I was advised...go with what you love/want. =)

Thank you all. So the answer seems to be a resounding "yes." Now I have a follow up question. The new window needs hardware and screen. We are painting the window trim similar to the cabinet color (an off white, brookhaven alpine white, which is a little grey). SO, if I go w/ oil rubbed bronze and ss knobs and pulls for the cabinets, should the window hw be stainless or oil rubbed bronze (it is pella, the color is actually "brown," but it seems close enough to the bronze. TIA

@historian, 'up till 11pm' pfft, that's nothing! I've regularly done a 2am obsessing about various 'bits'. . But he's, on the mix of finishes and metals etc, I've done it. Stages sink, kohler vinnata tap in polished chrome and antique pewter knobs. Stainless steel fridge and freezer ( inox finish so hope less fingerprints) . I'm almost all done decision wise. Cabinets being delivered this week, fitter coming on Monday morning. Granite firm coming up from London and I live in Somerset to template for our marble. ( hence the forum name!) they are about three hours away not far for the USA but in little UK, that's the width of the island in driving time! ( chalon kitchen in last house and they organised the granite and used this company and they did an amazing job) have my tap, sink etc all waiting here. Crossing everything that the company can get back Before Christmas to install the marble. Otherwise it'll be a Christmas with no sink and plywood counters from the template! i really like your handles love the antique pewter finish!

The chandelier is an 1880's brass fixture that hangs over the table. I have had it for many years, from when we lived in our house, and I am emotionally attached to it, so I wanted to keep it. The cabinets are Kraftmaid Vantage, Canvas-painted uppers and Toffee-stained maple lowers. Cambria Helmsley counters. I have some glass door fronts. I thought that the two-tone handles tied in the stainless appliances, sink and faucet with the light. Also, I don't like things that are matchy-matchy. I have to say that the KD didn't really "get it", but when he came by after his crew had finished, I think he understood what I was going for. BTW, whatever hardware you get, buy a few extra, just in case. I think certain cabinets that you touch a lot might need replacements down the road, and as you can see, the ones I got aren't available anymore.
