This disappeared, so I'm trying it again.

A right hand turn lane, turning onto the cross street at the light.

Across the street is a right hand turn lane going into the plaza only.

99% of drivers, me included, use the right hand turn lane to go onto the cross street, or into the plaza. I'll cross the street, then pull into the right turn lane to enter the plaza.

I was with my friend and she drove thru the intersection to enter the plaza, staying in the right hand turn lane. Another person was in the lane beside me one time, when I was going to enter the lane to turn into the plaza. I didn't expect anyone there.

Who is right?

Jasdip, if it is marked right hand turn only before the intersection, then I would turn right at the intersection. I think you are correct.

Just a bit more information: Last night I discovered that the right rear wheel is also a drive wheel, but did not work. I found that where the pawl plate attached to the plastic wheel it was damaged causing the pawl not to align with the ratchet wheel (I had to lookup these part names). I was able to drill a new hole in the wheel and attach the pawl plate in a different spot on the wheel. So what I would like to understand more is how the rear wheel drive is suppose to work, When I manually turn the pulley clockwise, the wheels turn one directiosn. When I turn the pully counter-clockwise, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction. This seems logical and seems to all work. WHen I let go of the drive bail I am able to push the mower forward and the wheels move freely as the pawl skips over the ratchet wheel. However, when I pull the mower backward, the pawl will engauge the ratchet wheel and thus takes some effort to pull in reverse. Is this the way the mower is suppose to work? Or when pulling in reverse is it suppose to disengauge from the gears somehow so the wheels spin freely?

each thumb flash drive will say what it holds for example it might hold 4 gig or 8 gig or less or more. It depends on what type files you will be storing, picture and video files are very large so will take up much more room than just text or document files. go to the folder of the files you want to backup to the thumb drive and right click on it and choose properties it will tell you exactly how much is contained in that folder so you would know you need a flash drive that is big enough to hold that much at least. I think 4 gig is a nice size and they are fairly inexpensive. I buy 4 gig Kingston drives at Big Lots all the time for $12. You can buy them at walmart, best buy, or any stores that sell electronics and computer stuff. You can move all you pictures and other data to the external hard drive that you are not likely to need often to create space. Any uninstalled programs can be moved there to store. On the existing drive you might try running Ccleaner to remove excess files and a host of other odds and ends left behind over time. The program is free and very safe when ran with the default settings. Defrag after helps too. Ideally you need 20 to 25% free space on your C drive for the computer to work smoothly.

If you buy a used computer its always best to do a clean install of the OS and then reload what programs you want to run... You can still run some of the programs from your old hard drive by opening the folder of the program and clicking to run its executable file (.exe). Some will work, some won't, but none will continue to have an icon on your desktop unless and until you create a shortcut for it. .. I work with computers ALL the time. When you install a program it puts files in unseen folders as well as its main folder within Programs. It also puts certain information into bios and its from there that the program told to load and be prepared to launch.

That's my thought Rox. And others agree with me, as I see most people do it. Turn right at the intersection. Or stay in the thru-lane to turn right into the plaza once I cross the intersection.

You are correct. On one of my jury duties, we had that same situation. The wrong driver lost.

I would think right turn only would refer to the intersection, not the plaza.

I cannot make any sense out of the sketch. I cannot tell where the intersection is because there are lines crossing each other, which I interpret as curbs. There should be no solid lines where there are no curbs. You could use dotted lines to indicate lanes, however.

What do you mean by plaza? For me, it is a park in the center of town, often with a fountain or a gazebo in the middle. I think plaza might mean something different in Canada.

If I understand you correctly and if I understand the diagram, I agree with everyone else. Right turn only is for turning at the intersection.

For that intersection the work so that you could either turn at the road or go ahead to the plaza to turn you would need one of those duo arrows with a straight and turn arrow together that turns into just a turn arrow after the intersection. It is a very badly designed roadway if you ask me and an invitation to disaster.

IAC, whichever way you go, one needs to be super cautious that someone isn't pulling into their lane in such a short distance. Poorly designed and marked for sure.

I can see where drivers in the middle/straight ahead arrow lane might try to turn right into the plaza too and sideswipe a car from the right lane which also crosses the street trying to get into the plaza.

Patriciae, that's an excellent point on having the duo arrow.......striaight and turn arrow joined. I've only seen 2 people stay in the right lane through the intersection, one was my friend and I was the passenger. I asked wth she was doing. The other was a car that I saw at the last minute as I was moving into the turn lane to go into the retail plaza.

Lars, it's a retail plaza. Grocery store, drug store etc.

It doesn't really matter what plaza means in this context; the turn lane could be to anything.
I totally agree that the right turn only lane is to mandate turning at the intersection, not crossing the side street and getting into that right turn lane. The city should add buttons or barrier to prevent entering that lane to the plaza from across the intersection. I'd definitely contact the road dept and explain your close calls with people making illegal/dangerous actions.
