I say mount it above the fireplace (on a swivel). That option will also save some space for you to maybe put a nice tall plant in the corner where it's highlighted in red or some artwork.

given what you have, I think over the mantle is best.

This is pretty close to what your have (space-wise w/the windows on either side)

Do a nice mantle surround like this one, with trim molding that goes up to the ceiling. I like the drapes on the windows here too

this room size is similar w/the windows flanking the fireplace, and the other window off to the left.

I like the benches under the windown, framed out tv, and the sofa facing the fireplace. chairs can be on either side.

Most times I hate seeing tv over a nice fireplace, unless fp surround is plain and contemporary. What about swivel chair where floor lamp is - with tv to left of window, and sofa moved too?

the sofa can face the fireplace but then there's not much space between the sofa and the fireplace. further, mounting a TV above the fireplace hurts my neck even to think about. the TV should be at about eye level when sitting, not way up high.

yes, they sell mounts that can come down in front of the fireplace but that's not the best solution either. that's why i was focused on the corner.

That fireplace does look tall to put a tv on top of. We have our tv in a corner because of a fireplace in the middle of the wall and it is fine. We dont have the window you have between fireplace and corner so we are able to put it on the diagonal. i Just made a tv lift cabinet for it so it is out of sight when not in use which is great!

Because of your window placement i think your idea of a console with tv either wall or cabinet mounted is a good solution.

Is the longer wall on other side of window a possibility? It will feel more substantial vs something small squeezed into the corner or having to hang tv. On that smaller wall, add a painting and plant and you’ll have more balance and interest. Place grey chair near fireplace.

Is that mini split good for the TV? Why can't you put the TV on the left side of that window?

Move it left on a console 25% wider than the TV. You need a larger rug. Is that a swivel chair? You can mount it on a swivel base to turn to watch TV. You might move the chair and lamp left of the FP as a reading nook so it does double or triple duty.

Corner TV stand seems like the obvious thing to do.

i could put it to the left of the window but that is a hallway that leads into an office and then the dining room. i am worried there won't be room for a console at all (which may not be needed, frankly).

is there a wall opposite the fireplace? can it go there? if the walking path is narrow: flush mount the TV as close as possible to the wall. it can look a little weird for it to be hanging out all alone like that, so look for a slim console about 15" deep. or if that sticks out too much, consider wainscotting or a decorative panel behind the TV. or a really slim wall shelf with a couple of knicknacks. or if budget allows, a Samsung Frame TV. (wires could be buried in the wall, other media electronics can be hidden in clever ways.)

l like the corner console in the picture that 'mdln' shared, the upper right hand side. It looks balanced between the two windows, and is also at a good viewing level for the sofa, you can usually swivel the tv a little for viewing ease.

oh, ok yeah-- I see that the corner is the best spot. the fireplace is too tall and the ceiling too low. a TV would look crammed up there, plus it would be very uncomfortable.

if the couch is the favorite seat, then I think the viewing angle would be best if you mounted it flat on the wall, not the corner. try it out-- find a small piece of furniture in your house (or a crate) to temporarily move over there, and set the TV on it to see if you like the angle.

due to the heat pump, is the radiator decommissioned? can you remove it? or if it's still working, consider a custom piece that covers it on the left while allowing ventilation. I feel like something wide would balance the space:

or a small piece that fits directly under doesn't have to be a TV console. it could be a bookcase or cubbies. I've even seen benches used for this.

thanks @User the radiator is not decommissioned but we may be able to make/find/buy a custom cover that would extend out as you mention (and i agree is a good idea!)

interesting- so you have a heat pump and a radiator? or do you mean that you don't use the radiator, but it's just not decommissioned yet? it sounds pretty straightforward to get a plumber to remove it. if you were keeping the floor pipe intact, ask them if you can also remove the handle so a console with legs could clear it.
