Backsplash dilemma
Comments (2)You already have a backsplash out of your countertop material. Nothing else is necessary. If you’d like something different, please remove the 4” splash. Having both is redundant....See MoreBacksplash dilemma for u-shaped kitchen. What to do with other walls?
Comments (9)@badgerbldg You have an adorable kitchen. I wonder if just changing the backsplash counters and maybe update to brighter lighting might be all you need for a good refresh. Cat-ky is on to something your cabinets look like a nice quality. @User Funny I always thought that tile would be cheaper than a slab backsplash. It was my GC that pointed our for our area of the country it might be the same price doing a slab backsplash. (Good tilers were tough to find without a long wait to our project) We could have gone with tile but fell in love with our stone. It ended up being cheaper than the tile and labor would have been. I was surprised. Now this might not be the case in other parts of the country with plentiful tilers. @Patricia Colwell I had no idea you couldn't use quartz for a backsplash. That is too bad. I am glad I learned this, I almost went with quartz for my own space. Its funny they show it in photos but I trust you that it is probably not a good product for backsplashes. Such a shame. Comments (1)Is what is in your niche the same as what is on the shower floor? What is on the shower floor does not look uniform enough to be a good backsplash, but see if you can get tile in the same colors (or color) to use as a backsplash. Does the shower wall tile come in a smaller size? It doesn't have to be just 4" which is normal backsplash height, nor does it have to cover the whole wall. It could go to the bottom of your mirrors if you like that. But if done thoughtfully this could actually be an attractive accent in your bathroom. I am also posting a picture where they did something completely different (textured tile). If you have a good tile setter they should be able to work with whatever - be sure to have thought about the edges before starting. Schluter trims are low profile and appropriate in a contemporary room....See MoreCabinet or Shelf. Backsplash Dilemma
Comments (11)are you getting new cabinets? do you need the space in the uppers? how are you expecting things to look? tile going to the edge of the counter since the overhang is so far out, they could have stopped the tile at the upper cab border. but it's fine either way This one has a short overhang in relation to the uppers, so stopping it here is really a personal choice. It could have been taken all the way to the edge. Here are diff looks w/tile splash going to the end, stopping at the cabs, and going all the way what I would suggest is refacing the lowers and getting some drawers. you have nothing for large storage. at least do the drawers under the stove top i had mine refaced/painted and love all of these drawers. here's taj w/white cabs gold hardware and a cool tile...See MoreCarly
