Fiddle leaf fig questions - red spots

A little while back, I decided to chop our fiddle fig down and went rather extreme with it just as an experiment. The tree had been about 6.5 ft tall and I chopped it down to just above the first leaf pair, leaving about 1-1.5' of trunk. I also heavily trimmed the roots as it had been in the same pot for about 2 years.
My wife and I didn't habe room for it this winter so I wanted to see what would happen.
The tree has recovered nicely and is pushing out 3 new leaves, however the new leaves have these red spots on them. I browsed the numerous fiddle fig posts first bc I'm sure someone else has had this issue, but didn't quite find what I was looking for. The spots could be edemas I suppose, but it just doesn't look quite right to me. I'm very unfamiliar with other biotic/abiotic plant problems, so could someone help me identify what these are?
Rust of some kind?
