tip-out tray in bathroom?
Comments (8)If your toothbrush is out in the open, technically, like everything else it is exposed to bacterial aerosol when someone flushes the toilet. Since the toothbrush is wet and already has bacteria on it, it may retain more than a dry surface. However, since I haven't read of any deaths from people brushing their teeth, its probably not really a big deal, just someone's research. (Actually people with severe gingivitis or periodontal disease create a bacteremia whenever they brush, so they could potentially die from forcing their own bacteria into their bloodstream if they had certain existing conditions and a screwed up immune system) Oh well, way OT. I think the tray could be great with the papertowel for blotting....See MoreTip: How to make a patio door insert for a portable A/C

Comments (13)I have the same as rmlanza, and treat mine as she does. In one side, I keep my eyeglass-cleaning supplies. I open that side every morning when I clean my glasses. The other side will get more use when the hummingbirds return, because I keep my bottle brush and the stopper in that side with unused sponges. I scrub my hummingbird feeders with a brush before refilling them with sugar water. When we replaced our kitchen cab doors/drawers, we also replaced cab doors/drawers in our home's two original bathrooms. Tip-outs were added there, too. Those bathrooms belong to our college-age kids, but they use their tip-outs for toothpaste and such when they're home. I find the tip-outs to be quite handy. Oft-used items are easily stored near a sink without having to bend over to retrieve those items out from under the sink cabinet....See MoreUnder sink tip out trays??
Comments (10)Make sure that you measure the room left for your sink first - the hardware of the tip out trays extends about an inch behind the cabinet opening. We had purchased a tip out tray, and installed it prior to installing the sink (for ease of installation,or so we thought.) We went a different way with a different sink, and the front to back depth of the sink precluded the use of a tip out tray (there is very little room between the sink basin and the front edge of the cabinet.) I sadly removed the tip out tray, but did a little problem solving and installed the plastic "sponge holder" that came with my tip out tray hardware (purchased too far in advance to get a refund) to the upper interior side of the sink cabinet. I use it for backup sponges, as well as the scrubby that i want to hide from others (I do not want my MIL using a scrubby on my glass stove top or on my stainless appliances.) It works great there. I also hid the chocolate chips that I don't want my kids ravaging before I bake the cookies :) Maybe I should start a new thread....See Moredarbuka
