What color mirror frame looks best with a navy vanity?

We are in the midst of a small-budget update of the vanity areas of our jack-and-jill bathroom . The vanities are being painted SW Cyberspace (dark navy). Walls are SW Agreeable Gray. Faucets and hardware are champagne bronze. Current floor is white tile with blue marbling look. We have some LVP left over from another project that we might be able to use, fingers crossed. That's a grayish wood look.

On to my question... We are replacing the old, damaged mirrors with new standard size mirrors, similar to what was already there. Not my first choice, but we want the mirrors to match, and we are limited by budget and the one vanity's offset sink. My husband wants to frame the mirrors, but I'm not sure what color the frames should be. I don't want to use a gold frame since there's a lot of gold-tone going on already. A navy frame is what I see most often with pics of navy vanities, but I'm not wild about that either. Someone suggested a rough sawn wood. What do you think? Any other ideas/suggestions? Should we skip the frame and leave the mirror plain?

Thanks, Lilly. We are definitely installing the plain standard rectangular mirrors. I've already bought them. Just trying to decide if we should add frames to the perimeter.

Oh, do take care. Nonetheless, arthroscopy is such a measure that needs protecting the knee from further insult. You can paint the mirror black and rub 'n buff in silver and if some of the black shows through, so be it, it has an antiqued look which is what you are going to get with that kind of painting anyway and having an antique look juxtaposed to the refined clean lines you have is required to add interest. You can create such a lovely space here (only when knees are healed).

Depends on what look you're going for - contemporary? Then spend the $ now on frameless doors and get them installed. More traditional? Then do a shower curtain(s) and frame your mirrors. It's not that hard to do (I did it with a huge jigsaw puzzle in ds's nursery) after the mirrors are on the wall, as long as there's room. Only thing is you want to paint the back of the trim black so you don't see reflection of the wood where it overlaps the mirror. A mirror will be thicker than the jigsaw puzzle, so you'll need to route a channel in the back of the trim pieces where it overlaps the mirror, or else the outer edge of the trim won't lie flat against the wall. If you don't have the carpentry skills to DIY, ask your finish carpenter to do it - I'm sure it'll be a lot less than $200 per mirror (42" x ? each). Do you have pics of bathrooms so far (vanities, sinks, faucets, lighting installed?) so we can see what style is? Of course, oceanna's solution is much easier to DIY and looks so pretty (but more casual/contemporary). As always, oceanna, your painting is beautiful! I'd love to see your whole bathroom!

In terms of proportion anyway. But you're right, round mirrors are a little different. I wouldn't get one any larger than 40". Also, if you get a frame you may want to match it to your hardware. Here is a photo of a round mirror with a size proportional to your vanity. Of course the placement of the mirror also depends on how tall you are. I wouldn't get a round mirror any larger than this.

You definitely don't have to add a frame. If you do, you might try the navy though.

Maybe match the woodwork trim in the room? I prefer frameless. Let the pretty light be the star.
