I have Amtico flooring in my kitchen/laundry rooms. You can find it at high end flooirng stores. Amtico looks like real wood because it has a slight wood-grain effect in the surface, it's laid in "planks" and the edges have a very tiny bevel. No one believes its vinyl and it can take anything our family of nine plus a dog can dish out. Steam clean it. I think it's called Priory Oak, the wood images were taken from pews in a very old English church. So lovely and practical but definitely not inexpensive. I also have Amtico black "stone" tiles in two bathrooms. These have fake grout lines that have not been an issue to maintain. Silver grout in the girls bathroom and taupe grout in mine. Tiles have a slight texture which is good in a bathroom. Tiles seem impervious to water, even a flooding washing machine has not lifted any planks of the concrete slab they are floated/glued on. Love these floors!

I really appreciate all the pictures! I am currently trying to decide between these 2 options also! My biggest concern with jet set is-can it look too dark? I will be installing these floors in my basement with very dark grey cabinets and white trim. The samples of jet set are perfect, but pictures here seem a little darker. Any advice from those of you with jet set? My worry with finally mine, sometimes appears too light. How about those of you with finally mine? Any suggestions? It is a basement remodel with a kitchen addition. Going with dark greys, brick backsplash and cement counters. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

I cannot find any reviews on the quality of Kahrs LVT flooring. Kahrs has been around for a long time and is known for wood and engineered wood flooring. They are newcomers to the luxury vinyl world and I can't find a single review of their LVT. Has anyone here installed them or have feedback on the product? We really like the Oulanka color because it is a light blonde with very little grey tones and the patterns have low variation in color and wood grain and it's not too knoty. Can anyone recommend another LVT that is similar? I'm hesitant to buy the Kahrs without seeing reviews.

We actually want to do waterproof hardy floors all over because we have a dog and plan on eventually adopting a puppy (and maybe even another 3rd dog further in the future). Also, we are ripping out carpet and covering some bad looking old hardwood with the vinyl, and wanted to have a cohesive look throughout the entire house. The bathrooms are the only place that we aren't putting new vinyl at the moment, but we are planning to completely remodel them in the future and do their floors then with heated tile. We will look into expanding our budget however. Are there other good brands besides Coretec? I've seen Mohawk, Mannington Adura, Shaw, Armstrong, and Flooret mentioned a lot but not sure if any are great, or just good for their value. We will keep searching for more contractors as well who seem to be more reliable sources. This guy gave me bad vibes anyway, as him and his colleagues had their masks off indoors whenever they could manage to, and other info he gave us also contradicted things we've heard elsewhere (I know the mask thing doesn't affect quality of work, just a personal peeve...) Oh, and we have been told that no one will allow us to purchase our own flooring materials if we want a professional contractor to install them because places want to upcharge for their own stuff... is that true?
