Front loader shopping, king sized bedding, Electrolux ?s
Comments (73)Hi cj47 We really like our EL wahser/dryer and have had zero problems. On the washer we usually add extra water to the cycles just to get a better wash and rinse. To tell the truth we haven't tried it without the extra water but we've heard people complain about other front loaders and that they wish they had the option to add more water. We leave the washer door open when we're not using it so the door gasket dries out. Also we'll occasionally wipe the gasket and glass in the door with used towels as we put them in the washer and we haven't had any strange smells from the door gasket. The washer uses very little detergent. I suggest you use less than recommended by Electrolux. The dryer has been great too. I've used the steam freshen cycle to take the wrinkles out of clothes I want to wear but are not yet dirty (or not too dirty to wear!). This worked well. Our contractor and plumber scratched their heads at why we needed a water supply for the dryer... The programming is super easy. My wife usually doesn't like programmable controls but after the first couple of tries she has not had any problem with them, or with the electronic wave touch controls on the Electrolux Icon double ovens. Good luck! Billy...See MoreBedding Help, Please!
Comments (19)then we have different experiences roarah that's true, with Anthropologie one can be lucky or not..I usually am. They sell different brands, so it will depend on a brand..or to some degree a type of a product..and might be a miss, so I've already educated myself of what not to get there, and what still to get. (but I didn't pay so much..one was a twin and I waited for sale..another, a queen, I found on eBay-very different price..I imagine if I payed the full price and it would start tearing like you describe, I'd bring it back to them very fast. and they'd take it back. they have pretty good customer service, I must give it to them) but I do have two totally great, very fine quality sets of bedding from them, and two or three throws..and..one throw pillow I think? and these quilts..and really, no complaint about these, and I have most of them for several years. I highly recommend OneKingsLane, Gilt, and RueLaLa as huge sources of discounted(or so they say lol) bedding..I try to go by the brand there. If I'm familiar with it. That's where I find high quality linen, and cotton, and some throws and accent pillows as well....See MoreNightstand and bedding suggestions?
Comments (3)Something like this would be pretty: https://www.mcgeeandco.com/collections/nightstands/products/josiah-double-nightstand-1 Otherwise, walnut immediately came to mind as a gorgeous choice for nightstands in your space. I think you're right to choose a neutral/textured bedding rather than patterned bedding!...See MorePlease help me find bedding and lamp for guest room, pretty please!!
Comments (47)coray is so right! And I will add to coray, I suggest not have lamps on the night stands at all, but having sconces affixed to the wall next to the bed. This solves several problems. This avoids having a bulky lamp on the night table, especially important when you may need to get a smaller bedside table due to the size of your room. You can get the type of wall sconce that has an adjustable height, so it will work well as a reading light for people sitting up in bed even if one is 6'3" and the other is 5'3", and will work no matter the height of the bed as well. Some of these wall sconces are plug in so you don't even need to call the electrician, and you can get the cord cover if you don't like the look of the cord. Re secretary: I do not advise getting a vintage secretary with drop-down desk with hutch to use as a work surface. When one works, one tends to lean on the desk with the weight of ones arms or elbows. Secretaries are just not made to take that weight, and the hardware holding the drop-down leaf will break off the secretary or worse, the wood of either the wooden leaf or the secretary will be significantly damaged. And fine craftsmen who know how to repair this are very hard to find. Furthermore, why is there any need for a hutch in a guest bedroom? That bed room is too small, a large piece of furniture like that will only make the room look smaller. If you need a place to store extra towels, get a hotel towel rack for the bathroom like this- You said that your son and GF will be coming for extended stays, so they need a place to keep their clothing. That is a very big closet. I would put in a closet system like ELFA to accommodate their clothing with racks and shelves, etc. so that you do not need a dresser at all in that room. (You will have 2 night stands with drawers.) This way you will have space for a small work table and chair for them. Another thought is to ask them how much time they will actually be needing a surface for their laptop. Maybe they could get by with a drop-down desk that is affixed to the wall (there are some with legs for more support) plus a (folding chair,) rather than a permanent table. https://www.decoist.com/fold-down-desks/?chrome=1 And then they could have a nice comfortable chair for reading or whatever, and a laptop holder/lap desk like these (many people use these) https://nymag.com/strategist/article/best-lap-desks.html...See MoreFunkyart
