Phone in kitchen? Where?
Comments (30)>Something else to note is that my dad (who lives in a rural area that does have regular outages) discovered the other day that at least the model of phone he was using (wireless with several bases around the house) did not provide enough power to charge the phones so he could use them. Only the old fashioned kind that has NO battery would work It's not a question of the phone batteries, but of the fact that the part of the phone that broadcasts the signal does not have any kind of battery. If you are on a cordless and the power goes out, your call is done, even if your batteries are fully charged. You do need a real old-fashioned one if you want to use a landline when there's no power, as they found out....See MoreHelp! Need more living space. Ready to make some changes
Comments (6)My suggestion is to avoid making the same mistakes and retain the services of an architect. In this way you will have a plan that will address all your concerns and then you can figure out a way to put your plan into action. It is possible that you may have to wait until you have the funds to do it all at once. Sometimes doing things in bits and pieces can cost you more in time and $$ than doing it all at once....See MoreNew countertop or new cabinets and countertop
Comments (4)I would love to add shiplap, but which wall? I would add shiplap to every single wall... of my mother-in-law's house. In all seriousness, the way shiplap caught the public's attention means it was well on its way out of style before it ever caught on. I wouldn't bother with it, you will probably hate it in much less than 12 years. I wouldn't bother trying to spend money to make that kitchen look a little bit better, nor would I pay any money to reface it. There are better options out there for a much more functional kitchen that fits your taste and isn't throwing good money after bad. I would start by posting dimensions here and seeing what this community can come up with. Good luck...See MoreHelp....crack in new granite counter top and bad seam
Comments (33)Joe...also....the corbels under the granite were from previous countertop. There are 2 and the counter on the side with the crack does not meet it...they filled in gap with epoxy. I have a call in to the fabricator company...they also sell the slabs and installed. Am I being unreasonable about the crack? I can see it and feel it. I spent a lot of money for these tops and am also using as full height backsplash. They are supposed to install tomorrow which obviously will not happen until they come out and we discuss the counter concerns....See MoreYvonne Martin
