Kitchen faucet leak

I have a several year old Delta 400 series kitchen faucet that was leaking so I got a repair kit and replaced the seats and springs, cam, and o-rings. After installation my faucet now leaks several drops of water over a several second period, then groans or burps, spits out a small stream and the leak then stops. I put silicone plumbers grease on all rubber surfaces. Is this air in the system? It seems to happen on the cold side and if I shut the water off very slowly the burp happens immediately instead of after several seconds. I really don't want to take it apart again because these things seem temperamental and I am afraid I will have a more serious leak after putting it all back together. Maybe it will go away after awhile. Any thoughts?
