Does anyone own a HAY sofa?

Hi all, I have been looking at the HAY sofa’s for a while (specifically in the Quilton model) but can’t find a single review. All the reviews I have found were related to the apparent horrible customer care the company provides. And they don’t have a showroom in NYC.
I would love to know if you own the Mags sofa or Quilton sofa and how firm it is and how the quality has been so far for you (photos would really help too)
Basically any feedback you know about this consoles sofa would help!

@Shomari G yes, do you own this couch? I am still searching for more details about the Quilton sofa but it seems like not many people have seen/sat on it yet!

Prettybutton, that is exactly what I was able to do. The bench I ordered was not carried by Crate. But I have such a good salesman there he knows the folks at Lee, called them and ordered the bench for me (and said he could order anything from them as they are a major vendor) and gave me the sale price on it and also on the customizations I wanted -- castors and nailhead trim. Those weren't on the bench originally so first step was to see if they were possible and then to order them up. At one point I wanted to change the leg style and he called about that as well (I couldn't). It's a pleasure. Obviously, special orders aren't going to be returnable but I know the Lee quality and it's a copy of a bench that's 6 times as expensive. I used the extra fabric he ordered for me when I bought my sofa. I could have gone with one of their leathers (also 25% off) or another fabric. Last year at this time I took advantage of the same sale (mid Sept-mid Oct) to order a sofa and chair. If I need upholstered things I spend time figuring out what I need and wait for this so I can get the customizing at 25% off. I have access to the wholesale market as well and have gone through the showrooms. To order a sofa from one of the Brand names would have doubled the cost and I honestly couldn't see double the quality. Custom is also available here and, of course, if you're going with that from a high end upholsterer it's a whole different game. But again, I just cannot see spending thousands on upholstered furniture which basically depreciates to the Craigslist level the day it's delivered. But that's me and others may not agree. Don't know if every Crate store or salesperson can offers this level of knowledge or service but it's worth a visit if that's possible.

About 90% of upholstery manufacturers outsource their cushions to mostly local foam/cushion converters. The individual core springs can vary in gauge, usually between 14 and 18 and width of 2 1/2 to 3 x 3" to 3 1/2" height. The most important part of a spring cushion is the type of material they use between the spring core and the blend/down envelope. Because this is usually what breaks down first, and so the cushion begins to loose their shape in time. Actually a 2 pound density or higher HR foam will hold its shape better and last just as long as a spring-blend/down cushion.

Anyone's dog afraid of their own farts?

Yep I had an Australian Shepard who was scared of her own farts. It would always scare my mom, especially at night. If my mom would get up to get a drink of water or somthing the dog would creep up behind her and then all of the sudden, phfft.. Aiih Aiih Aiih.. and the dog would be running full speed ahead but sliding on the kitchen floor and usually knock a bunch of brooms over or something. My mom would be there with spilled water and clutching her chest saying, "oh my god!! Damn dog!!! Scared of her own damn farts!!". One time I was in the bathroom at night and that silly dog crept up to the door and sat down. All of a sudden, raeaeh.. Aiih Aiih Aiih boom.. she farted, screamed, jumped up, and ran right into the door all in a couple of seconds. It scared the crap out of me! Once again I was half laughing and half annoyed, my heart racing in the middle of the night! We thought she was unique but it sounds like many dogs have the same problem!

Hi, i ve tried it in their showroom in paris and i love it! its firm but still very comfy!

they also make it so we can sit anywhere which is great if you are planning to put it as a room separator.

I have a the quilton chaise configuration. I have it in bonsai green. I absolutely love the couch, it breaks in really nicely. It definitely has the same issue the video review pointed out, but it’s not really a big problem.

l've the Hay Mags in wool. I love the way it looks and it's built very well. I find it too low, which hurts our posture. It's wonderful for lounging. I would say it's firm and the wool feels scratchy, especially when it's warm. I would love to find some Hay sofa legs that raised this 2-3 inches.

Hi, we have a couple: Hay Mags, and a Mags Soft. Our Mags Soft is 2 months old and looks saggy - it has 2 long lines in the centre of the modules that we tend to use a little bit more. I don't love it and had I known I wouldn't have purchased it. It might be related to how they stick the sofa. On the other hand, our Mags is great. It is almost one year old and It looks great. It held its shape, and it is comfortable but you need to also purchase the pillows/backrest as the modules are too deep and uncomfortable without them. As for the Quilton, I remember watching a review on YouTube where they also had issues with sagginess.
