Buy some fun bedding and select a paint color from the design.....then repaint to white when you actually get ready to sell or leave as is, fresh and clean and new looking. Here are some simple plain bedrooms that will show well when you get ready to sell. The teal you love with pinky/beige headboard and black and white accents All white and beige but bed Basic builder beige with lime washed oak furniture Youthful feeling bedroom with pale blue grey walls deeper blue grey night stand and dresser, and deep blue shams, throw fun rug. and wrought iron....all easily done for a different effect....go for it!

I dont like the idea of a wall to wall shelf or any other shelf over a bed. I have visions of something coming down and landing on the occupant or occupants of that bed. I do like the color and sconces etc, in the post above by Laura. It looks great. I also would want draperies on the window. The rods should be moved out a bit, so it looks wider and put the draperies on and pull to the sides, so the window itself is open. Paint one wall white and then view it for a day or two in all lights and see just how it works in your room.

I love color and would be desperate for color in this space, but I have quite a bit of color in every room of my home. I also love dark and moody spaces, although I don't have any in my home because it would feel off to have one room dark and the rest bright. You really need to look at the rest of your home to determine what will create harmony (not to be confused with monotony).

I think the green is very nice…what I don’t love is the white trim. I’d paint it green as well as the ceiling. I would suggest you not have so much wall decor, as it takes away from the style of the bed and the beam...
