Were the Glyphs forums offline Friday night?
Comments (60)Carolyn I don't mind sharing - I have participated for several years at Delphi which is in some way similar to GardenWeb in that it has multiple forums going on. However their forums have a host & are monitored & the rules are set up for each forum by that host. Delphi has several reader forums including Mystery & Thrillers, Booklovers, Book Sharks just to name a few. The forums tend to be much more active than RP and are friendly in that all comments & books discussed are responded to directly and opinions given. Booklovers just had a discussion on a book by Linwood Barclay & in June they have selected - by popular vote-to read & discuss Heart & Soul by Maeve Binchy. Delphi probably has more than just these 3 readers forums, but they are the ones that I use most. Delphi has 3 membership levels from free to Plus membership which I have because on some of the forums we post photos etc. Delphi also has forums for fancy sigs that you are invited to use. I participate in about 6 of their forums on a regular basis. They have some with cute names that are just for getting together similar I suppose to the Kitchen Table here at GardenWeb. They also have forums on various sewing techniques, knitting etc....the list is endless. Those that know me know that my favorite genre is a good mystery or thriller and that forum has been a goldmine for me introducing me to authors that I had never heard of before. The other forums have recommended books that I would never have heard of much less read....and that given all the books that we mention here. Pat...See MoreFriday Night Music FNM Dance Party!

Comments (25)I've been listening to music every minute, second. Music is not like light, oxygen, or any other indispensable element. People are close to it in an absolute way and take it with them almost anywhere: in the car, on the street, at work, or at home. And I often look on show4me.com to go out somewhere and not listen to music only on the phone, especially when it's outdoors it's so friendly and pleasant at the same time. Music helps me get rid of stress because it has a liberating effect. It can remove negative thoughts and unlock the mind from the questions that disturb our psyche....See MoreHey, we need some FNM music!
Comments (33)Here's some history on FNM: After the demise of H0T T0PICS forum, which is where Friday Night Music began (as far as I can tell), Don_Socal decided to revive it on Oct 26, 2020 on The Garden Party, since not much else was happening there. Then the following week (Halloween 2020), Maddiemo kept it going on The Garden Party, and cross-posted on Kitchen Table. It was somehow decided to keep it on both forums, as KT had more traffic, but keeping it on TGP made it easier to find so that one could easily keep track of what topics had been posted. Since it has a somewhat longer history on TGP, it is important to cross post there when started on KT, and then if you want to check what has been posted, you can just go to The Garden Party, (Houzz link) and pretty much all you will see is FNM. It is also important to include "FNM" in the title to make it easier to search for on KT, for those who prefer to do searches from KT. Quite a few different people have started these threads, and so it doesn't matter who starts them, providing they cross post to The Garden Party. When cross posting to TGP, you can find that forum by typing "Party" and that will be the only forum that shows up, and so cross posting is easy. It's been called "FNM" for as long as I can remember. It's impossible to do searched on HT, and so those threads have been lost. Some topics are seasonal, and so they get repeated annually....See MoreLars
