I cant even imagine eggshell on cabinets. Did your designer tell you, that you also use paint that is forumulated for cabinets?, not just regular type paint. Cabinet paint doesnt even come in eggshell. It is usually semi gloss.

no they were stained then i removed stain and did a white wash, but now i just want to do a white paint over existing paint

They need to be prepped again for proper adhesion. How are you applying the new paint as that may make a difference in peoples answers.
