Pool area drainage

tesyaa

I have a low spot where my pool patio meets adjacent grass, due to an improperly graded yard. We are working with a drainage contractor to address this and other unrelated issues, but he might not get to our job until the end of the year. The pool is now closed, but I thought of using sandbags (actually Quick Dam bags) to block the dirty water from spilling over into the pool if we have severe rains like with Hurricane Ida aftermath. (The patio is properly pitched away from the pool, but when the rains are so sudden and heavy, the muddy water rises so quickly that it flows into the pool).

Question for everyone is whether this might work? The patio width at this spot is 8 feet. I just want to keep the dirty water on the grassy side.
