Help with pendant lighting for classic white kitchen
Comments (2)First of all, your kitchen sounds gorgeous! And I think we have exactly what you are looking for. You might want to try a couple of our 6 inch drum pendants in a nice white/grey combination. The colors would lend to the traditional white of your kitchen, while drawing out your countertop. You could also use the 6 inch drum pendant in a vibrant turquoise/navy combination. It would add a splash of color and it would also go well with your nautical theme. Best of luck to you! Comments (45)Thank you SO much flashpolkadot, megs1030, and hu1967910! To answer your question, flashpolkadot, we tried all of the light colors including Sutton and Lato! If my memory serves, Sutton was more rustic and had a beige/gray undertone. It also had white coming through all of the grain. Lato was more modern and had more of a consistent color throughout, which is what we were looking for, but it was too light (Almost a white-ish, and we have 4 dogs which include a black lab and feared her black hair would stand out terribly). Soho was perfect for us! I agree that Flooret is hands down the best LVF on the market, but so many people don’t even know about it because it’s not sold in stores! It’s so hard to choose, so I don’t envy you! But if it helps at all, you CAN NOT go wrong with soho! I don’t know the style you’re going for, but I think soho would be best for mid-century, beachy, or clean and modern. However, I must say I own a lot of antiques and I love how they look with the soho. Be sure to share photos of whatever you have chosen after your floors are done!...See MorePendant Overload? Comments (15)@ RL - very good points re: cleaning. @groveraxle - goodness, I love your candor. Here's the thing. Those are knock-off Beat pendants and they're served me over the last 5 years but I'm ready for an update. They are also very low wattage so provide very little down lighting. I'm also SUPER fussy about finishes matching, and I'm doing chrome faucets and pulls. I don't like brushed + chrome look lol. I'm picky-picky. We have vaulted 16+ foot ceilings and the space feels large at over 20 feet long (even though the island breaks up the middle), I really feel like we need pendants over the island to break up the space. But I am definitely going to hold off on the pendants over the eating bar. @Patricia Colwell - i love that look but probably for another room. Thank you so much everyone!...See MoreWhat color pendant lighting in kitchen?
Comments (8)First lets address the situation: are you planning to hang a light over that very short extension off the counter? are you planning to leave the light in front of the pantry door? I see no need to hang a pendant over that. What purpose would it serve? I think the space looks complete as it is, if anything I would change the light over the pantry to a recessed or a slender flush mount. A 40-inch extension isnt really a peninsula......See Morenicoletouk
