Dining room decor help part 2
Comments (33)FingNugSnug- the dining room furniture was bought as a set about about 7 years ago. I do have different styles going in that room because I am trying to phase out the Tuscan style pieces. I am hoping to try and keep the buffet and table as I have seen similar pieces put with more streamlined chairs and decor and it seems to work. I guess I tend to like a eclectic look. Mmmbeeer- I didn't find it offensive at all! I appreciate your honesty. What are your feeling about my current table and buffet with new chairs? Do you think that will do the trick? My table is hard to see in the picture but much more streamlined than the chairs. Basically a trestle done in a dark finish. Majority of people seemed to not like the chairs with the rings on the back so maybe they are too fadish. Thoughts on that or another style of chair that might stand the test of time or at least 10 years or so. Lol!...See MoreOpen concept dining room decor HELP!
Comments (15)I would add a narrow console table something like this under the windows. Both are 12" deep or less so they will take up very little floor space: http://www.kirklands.com/product/Furniture/Living-Room-Furniture/Console-Tables/Tiffany-Weathered-Console-Table/pc/2285/c/3058/sc/2610/221804.uts http://www.kirklands.com/product/Furniture/Living-Room-Furniture/Console-Tables/Light-Cherry-Scroll-2-Door-Console-Table/productVariantId/212037/pc/2285/c/3058/sc/2610/221803.uts...See MoreDining room decor help
Comments (12)Thank you for the advice. I really like the suggestions. I have only kept those old chairs because the kids are so messy. I love the blue/gray chair options and the lighter rug. I’m a little nervous that we can’t keep them clean. I already have long white curtains from our old house that I haven’t hung, so I will hang those ASAP. I also have a large round mirror but it is oil rubbed bronze. Maybe I could paint it to hold us over? im still not sold on the current chandelier, but maybe if the sconces and other stuff changes it will look better. no, we probably don’t need the lamp in the foyer. I never thought of that. Although we do leave it on all of the time....See MoreDining Room decor help!
Comments (14)I’d lean towards making room feel casual, airy, and bright for your family. There are so many directions you could head and suggest looking for inspiration pictures that appeal to you and then narrow down the components you are drawn to. I think your chairs are fine and will be complimented by the look below, using a black sideboard to work with darkness of table and provide impact against subdued floor and wall color. Add lighter and larger art for an infusion of soft color and you could bring back your plant for warmth. Accessorize side board with pottery and table with a large bowl. A large black chandelier would make a big difference and on back wall add a series of prints. I’d also shorten drapes so they aren’t puddled and you could change rod to a thick black one - Amazon has some nice ones at good prices....See MoreYvonne Martin
