Thank you, we only can do the shower ( the glass exploded, so we need to address the shower ASAP, with limited budget. Agree that grey doesn’t go with the rest, really struggle to find the right floor ( pebble? Tile?) and walls ( all same, accent wall?) that won’t be too travertinish , if it makes sense… thank you so much!

The ladder is next to the entrance to the walk in closet. We didn’t plan on replacing the floors, agree that it can be a great move, might want to do LVP due to cost, but priority now is the shower, rest might have to be done sometimes in the future … thank you Beth!

That corner tub and steps is such a giant eyesore! is there anyway you can save up a bit more, lose that tub, and do a freestanding tub?

I just hate to see you redo the shower to match all of that if you plan on changing it 2 years from now.

That gray is too cool for your warm vanities and tile. if you want gray, you'll have to match the color gray in that glass tile.

your lighting is rather warm, and the wall color is very beige/yellow.

Can you paint the walls?

A warm white would be a better choice

and please lose that white mini blind! replace with something like this, in this color range. (or that greenish tone in your tile)

Thank you so much! The taupes ( last picture) are a better match for the walls, as well as the new blinds ( do they need to match in color?). What is a neutral tile color please? Also - the matching to gray glass is actually a matte metal stripe, is there a certain gray that goes well with it ( it is almost like stainless steel in that tile)? Thank you Beth!

Please update your light bulbs to 3500K. right now it seems like you're getting a lot of yellow hue to the bulbs. they may be too dim.

Neutral is color that goes with other colors.

Doing your shower w/something like this would match perfectly w/the other tile.

You could do a larger size. This is a Crema Marfil. you should be able to find a porcelain "crema" very close to this (Crema Marfil is an actual marble. you don't want marble in the shower)

find a 24x24 (or 18x18) tile in a 'neutral' shade like this one.

do a simple shower floor tile like this, in a darker, contrasting color. since you don't have matching floor tiles, you don't want something similar butting up to it.

I did my neighbors shower and used these porcelain elongated hex tiles on the shower floor, and

used a solid piece of quartz (4". buy a Quartz backsplash piece for $60 and cut it to size) for the shower curb. wall tiles are a 4x12 white subway with a handmade look

This is a bit whiter. but it's real marble. you could use this for the shower floor. check the rest of the items here to see what else you can find in the porcelain

If you like the pebble tiles, they are a higher maintenence and need a really good tile installer. but they do come in creamy tones

If you could remove the tile around the tub yourselves (research to help decide) you could save some money, as it’s the biggest problem in my mind. While you have the person in redoing the shower/the mess/inconvenience, it really is an opportune time to tag on this job and I think will transform your bathroom (and probably extend its need to be redone any time soon).

I'd head towards a classic larger tile that can easily be coordinated with down the road, and look for simplicity to reduce the cost of labour. Speak to your tiler to see what would help, ie: less cuts/grout/matching, etc.

In addition, paint the vanity and walls, change hardware and lighting and if possible, consider a frameless shower door.

As for vanity painting, assuming we will jot change the tile around the tub at this point - do you still recommend to go with the cream beige ( same for both the vanity and the walls?), or something else please? And for the shower - neutral for the walls only or the shower floor and walls ( same tile all around?) Thank you so much!

That tub tile is a major issue.

Suggest bringing home paint chips and even test a few, as undertone (see differences below), light and your floor will all have an impact. Personally, I’d head towards a white.

I think the shower is actually the nicest looking thing in the room. replacing it with grey tile that doesn't match will make that room even more mismatched and chaotic. (the tub is yellow toned while the floor is pinkish).

if it were my bathroom and could only do a few things, I'd redo the tub and floor. sorry but the mosaic tiles are dated and busy, especially if this tends to be a little bit of a cluttered space. (I totally undrestand that in "real" life, spaces can sometimes get cluttered and that's ok. but the mosaic is adding to the chaotic feel if you know what I mean?) then paint and try to find some good organization solutions.

one of the reasons why I like your shower is the easy maintenance of solid surface. the more grout you have, the more mold issues down the line. plus you will have to occasionally reseal that grout, which will be a bit of a pain with the tiny floor tiles. maybe swap the door with frameless if it's possible to do just that.

Unfortunately I can’t redo the tub at the moment, can only do the shower and maybe paint… Sounds like the shower should be as neutral as possible, matching either the counters or the travertine ( crema marfil tile was suggested above). Agree regarding the grout, assuming we’ll go with Crema Marfil, what is my beat ( and economical) option for the shower floor please? Here is the Crema Marfil sample and a couple others for reference, the door will be replaced with frameless glass. Possibly will repaint using warm or neutral white, but probably not immediately… Thank you for your help!

you need something w/a bit more taupe rather than yellow, and no visible patterns. (like those stripes

is there any way possible you can redo the tile floor? If you can't do it now, but have plans on doing it in the future, buy extra of that tile. or whatever tile you choose. that way you'll have enough to do the floor at a later point and it will all match.

for the shower floor, find a matching mosaic in whatever large tile you pic. they usually have mosaic sheets.

These are taupe colors w/slight pink undertones. I think a shower tile in this color range would work better for you. stop by SW and grab these colors cards, bring them home and see if they work w/the floor tile in natural light. if so, take them with you and look at shower tile. (unless you happen to have a spare floor tile lying around in the garage)

And please, please paint those walls a soft cream. (I like Swiss Coffee) you will be amazed at how it changes the entire room. do a little bit at a time if you want. Cut the ceilings and lower walls one day. come back the next day and roll the first coat. apply the 2nd coat the following week. whatever works for you. you just HAVE to get rid of those gold walls!
