Mandy, if you don't start by learning what is really right for you among all the many looks you like (me too) you may well end up disappointed. My most heartfelt advice is to go to the library, browse the old magazines, and make copies of what you like. Browse the magazines and books in book stores, but only buy something if a picture really pings or has a lot of ideas that get you thinking. Go to antique malls where some of the venders offer used decorating magazines and buy those with pictures you like. A range of at least several years is good since it frees you up a bit from whatever looks are being marketed for sale at this particular time. Lay the pictures all out and look for patterns. This is how I learned I liked rooms with lots of color IF they had little light-dark variation. It's also how I learned that I do like like-dark contrast IF it starts with most of the dark down low (like a dark floor), progresses up to dark accents in a light midplane (white sofa, yeah right), and ends with all light at the top. That I like ANY room, no matter what it looks like, if it has lots of books. Who knew? Not me until I educated myself a bit about myself. I've learned a whole lot that's benefited me from this forum, but I never ever asked others what they like since I knew it would be irrelevant and distracting.

Hi, I think to calm everything down, you will want to match one of the lightest colours out of your granite for the backsplash. I also think that a larger format tile might help offset some of the busy-ness of the floor. I'd go with coordinating colour for the grout, or just slightly darker than the tile...but not a lot darker - you don't need more action in that kitchen. How about something like this which appears to have a bit of surface texture but is still very simple. That one is from Tilebar and I know they have a great sample policy so it is worth hopping onto their site and choosing a few you think might work for you and ordering them in. Yes, a solid colour rug and big enough to cover most of the tile (Ikea is your friend on this) will help until you have budget to redo the floor. Flippers who use the cheapest materials available are just wasting so much time and effort, not to mention money. I've seen so many houses where a flipper has come in and used the cheapest tiles and fixtures and covered everything with a fresh coat of paint. Then they want a 200% return on their investment and cannot understand why it isn't selling. And it isn't long until all the cheap finishes end up in landfill. Sigh.........

Beige IMO is the least neutral you can find. It has so many undertones that choosing the right one is a matter of hit and miss. Before choosing any colors make sure all your lighting ie LED in 4000K this mimics daylight and keeps colors true. I would be looking a for a pale green from the granite for the walls a really pale one that has just a hint of that green to it. If you want to lighten up the space remove the backsplash get a nice glass tile and some under cabinet lighting and IMO keep flooring to one ideally but 2 at most.

Remove the shutters they actually detract form the windows the house is such a mish mash of styles i would keep the front door a simple one painted the same as the house that entry has so much going on no need for anything else.IMO the front porch is all wrong for the house and I would remove it and replace the doors with a large window to make it look like it was never a porch.Sorry but the architect that designed this house should get another job.
