Any reviews on a Kohler Strive undermount stainless steel sink?

The few online reviews for this sink are bleak... please tell me why you like or dislike this model.

There a ton of reviews and most are good. I have a small sink area in a smaller kitchen and I purchased the 24" for my current reno. I liked that it was deep and 16 gauge. It hasn't been installed but it was out for the countertop templating and it looks good to me.

If you go on Build.com searching stainless undermount sinks you'll find a large selection available for less than half the price of the Kohler. One even in 14 gauge for a 24". $224.

babyboomer1001: 100% silicone is perfect caulk between a sink flange and the bottom of stone. Polyseamseal and other Latex caulks are not; they do not have the adhesive stickiness or flexibility of silicone. It's best if you can pull your sink, clean the sink flange and stone bottom, recaulk with silicone and reinstall the sink. If this isn't reasonably possible, use a stiff plastic shim or plastic laminate to gouge the caulk out, clean the gap with acetone, and recaulk with silicone. Ignoring a leaking sink flange can have catastrophic consequences if your top has been "rodded" or reinforced with steel. If the fabricator used the wrong rod and/or the wrong bedding the rod can rust and blow up your top. I've fixed about 8 of these so far and it runs around $1,000.00-$1,600.00.

Please provide a budget. Any minute there will a couple posters popping up on here telling you that Rachiele sinks are the only sinks to get (they are not). They pop up like prairie dogs from the sand whenever they see the word "sink" in a post. And those sinks cost a couple thousands, to start. I recommend Kraus sinks because they are a lot of bang for the buck, and have such great reviews on this forum and elsewhere. You want a 16-gauge sink. Some people think an 18 gauge (thinner) sink is fine, but I agree with you about the tinny sound and feel. But since you can get a 16-gauge sink with Kraus for a reasonable price, there is no reason to get an 18-gauge one. Elkay sinks are actually a very good brand, but they do sell builders special sinks that are 20-gauge (which is probably what you have), while their finer 16-gauge sinks are expensive. I also recommend a rectangular single-bowl. What width sink are you looking for?

“there seem to be lots of reviews about Kraus stainless sinks in general that it gets scratched easily” ALL stainless steel sinks scratch. That is the nature of stainless steel. Those reviewers appear not to know that. But whether you pay $300 or $3000 for a stainless steel sink, it will scratch. After a while the scratches blend into a patina, and you don’t notice them. But if you truly don’t want scratches in your sink, you should not get a stainless steel sink. Get a different material like Blanco Silgranit or Kohler enameled cast iron. For a stainless steel sink in your size, I like to recommend the Elkay Crosstown ECTRU30179RTC which comes with a sink grid. Elkay is a good company, and their Crosstown sink has a corner drain. We have installed Ruvati single-bowl kitchen sinks in the kitchens of our duplex; one unit is our home, plus a third one in a rental unit. I have never had a rust problem. I believe they're 18/10 stainless, which shouldn't ever rust. They are 16 gauge and well insulated. Love the sinks, but wish there was just a tiny bit more slope toward the drain, which might make them easier to keep clean. I am constantly sweeping debris from cooking and cleaning into the drain.

I've put in several Strives. No complaints. They are fine sinks.

We are looking at the 32” sink. Reviews online are not great, but yet it’s one if the best sellers according to two different plumbing supply stores.

I have this sink in the low-divide 60/40 configuration. As with many more contemporary sinks that have the squarer design, there is not enough slant to the drain. I used to have an older Elkay in my old home and this was not an issue. I like the more contemporary design, but I find this somewhat annoying. I imagine this may be a problem with all sinks of this design.
