My fiddle is alive in spite of me, now what do I do???

So about a year ago I bought a beautiful 3 foot FLF. I named him Pfifer. We have lots of natural light in our house so I thought he would do well. I hadn’t taken into account our wraparound front porch and back porch off most of our windows. I also made the cliche newbie plant parent mistake of overwatering.

Long story short, Pfifer didnt make it 🙁

I took him out of his pot and placed him by the side of the house as I didnt have the heart to toss him. Fast forward THREE MONTHS later and I happen to be out there and see a tiny leaf!! He wasnt even in the ground, just leaning against the house in north facing sun. I potted him with fresh soil and put him on the back porch facing north.

Over the past month he’s put out 5 leaves 😍

My questions:

What do I do with the two old leaves on bottom? Are they draining too many resources or would it be too much of a shock to remove them?

What about his trunk? All the new leaves are off one branch; what to do with the other two branches?

What to do in winter? Im zone 9a so not very cold. He is so happy out there Im scared to bring him back in 😬

Thanks if you read all this, and TIA for any advice!
