Is it too late to spot butterflies? Early October Zone 7A New York

I was seeing so many butterflies, almost all Monarchs and a few Black Swallowtails, then the last two days nothing at all. I just started a butterfly garden this season and the only specific butterfly plants I have growing now are Tithonia, butterfly bush and verbena bonariensis. And some Echinacea, My garden is in such resplendent full bloom but no butterflies at all. There are lots of bees and wasps, I always seem to be walking through thickets of bees so I know nothing toxic has happened.

When do the butterflies stop visiting in my area? For that matter there are no hummingbirds either.

Thanks a million!

Is there something I can do to keep them coming for the longest possible time?
