The Plumeria World Is Feeling The Loss Of A Dear Friend

I have been flying all day today and thinking of the news that I received earlier. 😢 So many thoughts have been on my mind …. Thinking of the loss of our dear friend through tear filled eyes, I bring myself to the memories of our last conversations we had when I visited him in August 2021. He said to me then “ I have had a wonderful life…” and he was happy in so many ways. He touched us all and even in this time of sorrow, he has taught me to feel comfort and not be saddened knowing he is at peace. He will always continue to teach me as well as others with his wise words and direct us to think about all the good things brought into this world .

Thank you Bud Guillot for always being there for me. You will always be the voice i hear of wisdom when needed… You have served us and your country well. Just six months shy of turning 100 and your wings decided it was time.

God Bless You For Your Service ( two Purple Hearts) POW after being shot down in his B-24 over Berlin ( WWII) . Freed after one year in Stalag 17 by General Pattons Army. You - Have given your all and i thank you 🙏

Rest Now My Dear Friend…🙏❤️🙏

His named Cultivar ” California Sally” 60 years old in his front yard.. Bud has registered several with the Plumeria Sociery Of America : Makaha Sunn ; Saigon Moon; Palomar; San Migel ; Guillot‘s Sunset

Say hello to my mom Bud and show her how a new cultivar was named in her honor🙏

What a gentleman.. i know of no other man greater than him. He will always be so special …

He sent me this when my mom passed. it holds true with his passing as well. He loved this poem. The background is one of his Watercolor paintings ❤️

Hi Crasher I am sorry for you loss. You sound very sad. Grief is just terrible. But, I think light does begin to shine through. If you push yourself, get yourself out the door and go for a walk to a nice place, you will feel a tinsy bit better. Look for "honey". I said that over and over to myself, in this past year as I plodded through the grief of loosing my sister - the same age as your wife. By 'Honey" I mean, things like - a hug from a friend, a beautiful blue sky, a child's giggle - it is all there, you just have to tune in and look for it. I have comforted myself by using my sister's death as a time for me to gain strength and try new things. I have pushed, and pushed myself for months and I found great comfort in remembering what Fiona would say to me...Her words have made me start and art class, volunteer to help in a nursery. To take a French class - even get a job ! So I guess my message to you is - never give up ! Decide - "yes, I am sad, yes it hurts, yes I feel like crap - but I am strong, I can learn from this - I can be a much better person because I have been through this experience ". You can do it. Hope this helps you a little bit.

It's amazing how reliant so many of us get on these things! Yes I have a new one and getting it organized a bit. I haven't buried my old friend yet. I'm going to see if a heart transplant can bring life back. Been wanting a second one anyway. I have plenty of machines around I could get a desktop put together but the notebook is so much more convenient. The worst part is how it happened two days before I needed to head out of town for a picnic. And of course all planning, checklists, etc, were in there! So my memory got tested. But I survived it and had a good time. Used some of the time at the motel to download some of the huge files too. 135mb just for Windows updates. Then of course antivirus, spyware programs, etc. Thanks all for the kind words. But the reminder for building a "naughty chair" is in the old computer so it'll be a while before that'll happen! ;) I'm getting some thunder here so I suppose I'd better log off. Don't need the new one to get zapped.

Sorry that you lost that important, if seldom seen, friend, (((((Sue))))). It is hard to lose our friends ... and as we get older they, sort of like teeth, get fewer and fewer. A while ago I found that I wanted to keep my enhanced driver's licence ... not that I figured to drive a truck, really, but one wants to hang on to the privileges, I think. I was thinking that one sort of feels the walls closing in, and one wants to keep pushing them back, as long/much as possible. The other day I drove a friend to his brother's ex-wife's funeral ... along with that brother. She was somewhat younger, and they'd been friends, so he found that losing her troubled him somewhat. He told me that I shouldn't die for at least 20 years ... that he didn't want to have to grieve over me (a fairly recently acquired friend). So, I told him ... "You want to stick me with grieving over you, then, is that it?"! Life do have its problems!

I am sorry for you loss and can identify. My best friend of 50 years passed away in 2020. She had lung cancer but as she lived on Vancouver Island and was so immunocomprimised, I wasn't able to visit her at all the year before she died. We talked on the phone and facetimed for as long as she was up for it but she was too weak the last couple of months of her life. When she went into hospice, her daughter set a day up with me to help my friend with Facetime, but sadly she passed the day before that was to happen. I miss her so much and still think "oh - I'll have to tell Susan that..."

Laura.... What a wonderful life!!! and for you to meet him and speak so highly!! The poem is so beautiful!! My sister in law and brother in law just passed and I can truly say this is such a beautiful poem! i'm so sorry for your loss.
