Is this a fair price for a Heat Pump / what electric box do Ineed
Comments (6)Looks like a member company of Nordyne family of HVAC. Two ton condenser has been quoted. What size do you currently have including size of heat strip? I never ever recommend purchasing HVAC thru a big box store especially Sears. Usually a rip off. I would suggest getting a quote on a Trane or AmStd. I will not make a comment on your electrical service. Best to a qualified electrical company. Best practices say on a heat pump system, condenser, air handler, and strip electric heat should all be placed on separate circuits. IMO...See MoreMoving Main Electrical Panel
Comments (2)Things you can do to make it look better without moving it. Move the outlet box over to above the pet door. Re route the conduit/loose wire by the outlet box to run underneath the deck. Clean up various loose wires by cable tying them to the conduit. Paint all the conduit and boxes to match the wall. (not the glass on the meter) I think it just looks messy and can be cleaned up a bit then it wont look so bad. Otherwise your looking at minimum of 2 grand to move that....See MoreMoving Electrical Panel
Comments (9)should have been obvious to contractor, although I can see why a novice to remodel could have missed it. why not just make steps longer & build something around the meter to hide it, but not to interfere with meter readings? you could even put planters on the steps next to the wall to keep from bumping into it. best of luck....See MoreWhere can I move electrical boxes to allow for ceiling panel space?
Comments (7)The job looks like amateur hour to begin with. The pictures show a number of things that were NEVER legal under the electrical code, notwithstanding the general failure to execute things in a workmanlike manner. It's a loss as to why the haphazard installation was done to begin with. It shouldn't be hard to just move them up out of the way. The issue becomes one of accessibility. If by "celing tiles" you're talking things that are easily removed (your typical grid ceiling), that's all that's required. You do need to make sure the relocated cables are properly secured (they aren't now) and they can't rest at all on the ceiling system. If you're putting up a non-removeable set of ceiling tiles, you're going to have to remove the boxes or make them accessible. The plugs and cords are going to be problematic (as others pointed out you can potentially hardwire those shoplights if you intend to keep them, or just get rid of them). The remaining junction boxes could be mounted on the ceiling itself with blank covers....See MoreRelated Professionals
