Favorite Air Fryer/Combo Oven Recipes?

DH recently purchased a Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo (so it bakes, broils as well). The toast, bake and broil functions are obviously familiar, but I really don't know what to do with the air fryer. I am a vegetarian, so leaning toward that. Yesterday I made some steak fries and they were pretty good, but I wouldn't say very good. Would anyone like to share some tried-and-true, favorite air fryer recipes?

Roasted chick peas! I dont use oil, but this recipe does. I also use all kinds of spices and change it up. https://sweetpeasandsaffron.com/crispy-air-fryer-chickpeas/

Also air fried broccoli or brussel sprouts with balsamic vinegar and mustard is yummy too.

instead of steak fries I like to make smaller cubed potatoes and put spices on like the chick peas and are fry. they get super crunchy and yummy

If you get one where the door opens down e prepared for lots of crumb cleaning up. I gave my air fryer that had the slide out to my son and replaced it with a combo with slide in trays, rotisserie, rotating fry basket, skewers and almost wish I had just the air fryer back. Sometimes more is less indeed...

I've never seen one with a microwave. That sounds like a lot to ask. I just got one on Prime Day, but it's the kind that's shaped like an oven with a drop down door, but isn't much different than a drawer style air fryer, just a better arrangement. Part of the draw is that it's also supposed to dehydrate. I have some beets that are going to test that if I can chip out some time. The unit has a toast rack. I did once throw a couple of pieces of too soft bread in it to make a sandwich, but I was impatient and didn't wait to see whether it would make nice toast. Dried and stiff was good enough for the sandwich. It seems like they're adding "air fry" to everything nowadays. The question is how well does it work. It's just high speed, high heat convection, so I suppose the kind of unit you describe isn't that different from a conventional convection microwave. Mine has a rotisserie spit, cage and skewer holder. The cage is great.

Yes jb1586, this one does come with rotisserie tools. Does yours have the rotisserie basket for fries and wings? This one does. I think the spouse will try wings in it this weekend and I still have to make fries the proper way in this, with the R basket. fyi, I read a review that said if using the rotisserie tools for a chicken, it comes out very good, but a 3lb bird is best due to size limits in the oven. Hard to find one that size these days...a larger bird can be used but you have to use butcher twine to tie it together so it can spin around properly.

The theory about the unit heating too quickly is interesting, but doesn't make sense to me; it preheats just like any oven, before I would put the food in. The convection circulates the heat but doesn't add to it (I think - of course I might not understand!) I never intend to use my corning/pyrex/AH pans with the air fryer function - only for the bake or roast setting. I used the current/old convection toaster oven to bake pies, cakes and casseroles in those pans without any problems - even at 400+ for certain recipes. I do use the metal pans that came with it for cookies and pizza. Lars, mine are all older too. I agree, Elmer, the help lines for this sort of product never have any additional information, but I will give a call anyway. I will probably end up taking it back. Thanks for all of the comments!

I don't have an air fryer, but I am a vegetarian and have run across a few recipes that caught my eye and made me wish I had an air fryer to try out. I like a lot of the Love & Lemon recipes and have had good luck with most of them. Obviously since I don't have an air fryer I can't actually tell you if these are great, but they look yummy.

Thank you pricklypear -I've had good luck with that site for recipes but hadn't thought to look there for air fryer.
