Just started working. Whew! Crisis averted. That was stressful. I really wanted Wild Blue Yonder and it said there were only four available…I might have been yelling at my phone like a crazy person😬

It says I did but last year it said I had Claire Austin and i didn’t get it so i wont know for sure til spring but i feel pretty positive about it. I’m hoping the snafu last year was just cause of Covid and all the problems DA was having getting product to suppliers.

Now I am going out to move stuff around since I don’t have my grandson today.

It’s nice and mild and we are supposed to get more rain this aftersnoon so that will soothe whatever plants I traumatize!

@Kristine LeGault 8a pnw Roses are such hot commodities now I can understand the stress of trying to get it for the brief blip of time that it's in stock. I have my list ready to go as well for the moment HCR opens for orders again, last year he had plenty of one rose in stock (can't remember what kind now) because it's so popular, and someone bought every single one of them the morning they became available. So you never know, and if you want it you have to jump on it or else wait a year for it to hopefully be in stock again. We spend so much time planning out our dream gardens, and the ideas we form can become so fixed in our minds that it feels devastating sometimes to realize that the rose(s) you wanted so much aren't available anymore for one reason or another, and you have to settle for a change of plans (something humans seem to abhor).

I have a place of honor for Rouge Royal but had a couple of backup ideas just in case.

Magpie, nope. It’s funny, in a ridiculous kind of way- I have the old hard to find Claire but the new one has eluded me. I’m hoping I can still get it pre-ordered when I get my birthday gift card.

Kristine, I’m getting RougeRoyale from Roses Unlimited and have my fingers crossed I like the shade of red….this is unchartered territory for me!

I just checked and Rouge Royal is already sold out. Glad I got it ordered early.

I was never a fan of mauvey colors and now I have lots. I guess tastes change.

Kristine, I like red in other peoples gardens but I have a hard time making it mesh in mine. Then I got a really dark bunch of blooms on Great Western and I became intrigued.

My new experiment for next year is to put RR with one of my Rose of Sharon and Black Caviar with the other. I was thinking it would

look nice because they each have such a dark red eye. And they will have afternoon shade so I have big fat hosta that can go at their feet.

Honestly though I can’t believe how fast they sold out….that’s Palatine kinda crazy. I’ve never had to buy right away from Regan’s

Boy, Im glad that we got in early because so many were sold out almost right away, especially the Austins.

I did not expect to order from Regan until I saw they have World War II Memorial Rose and Tahitian Sunset, two roses that I have been looking for for a long time. Then I added a new rose Pop Art because of its charming colors. In addition to the 5 roses that have been ordered recently, there'll be three more coming in spring. I think I should chop off my hands. Buying roses is an addiction that is really hard to quit!

I had to work today so I wasn't able order until i took lunch. I was able to get every rose on my list except Princesse Charlene de Monaco (the one I wanted most). So I'll need to keep a look out for her.

Kristine, I work at a lawn garden and pet store. We had a couple in our inventory and I got to see them in person and knew i wanted it in my garden. I also follow Webcoolz on instagram and loved her pictures of it.

Nose, Great Western has probably been the biggest surprise to me. I love that rose!! Raspberry Cream Twirl is my second biggest surprise-it really is pretty in person.

@Kristine LeGault 8a pnw I have no idea how the plant itself behaves, but I saw and smelled a bloom of Fun in the Sun at HCR not too long ago and the bloom had gorgeous color and very good fragrance.

I live in Nampa Idaho, I work at a place called Zamzows its a small chain here in the Treasure valley and it has 13 locations and was founded in 1933.

Thanks to it being a lawn garden and pet store. It feels like I wind up spending most of my paycheck at work. lol

Oursteelers, I could use a short yellow or yellow orange blend.

I may just do a salvia in that spot but if something jumps out that I must have.

Christian, Nampa! I lived there for several years way back, and my mother and step dad and other family lived there for decades. My step father (Elmer Tiegs) was a big farmer south of Nampa. I love your Peach Swirl, luscious and just plain, to use the overworked descriptor, gorgeous. Diane

Diane, I was born and raised here in Nampa and can't see myself anywhere but the treasure valley! Peach Swirl is amazing i'm not usually into variegated roses but her colors are just gorgeous and not gawdy like i feel most variegated roses can look.
