Here's how I do samples at home. I paint a wall the same white as the trim. Then use a posterboard and paint it. Carry and place the posterboard around the room at different times of day. Look at it in corners, near your windows, adjacent to furniture. Yes, for sure get some light in there. Another note is that for interior softer colors, you have to go more muted than you think, if you're not accustomed to choosing indoor paint colors. Go for more shaded colors. p.s. Without seeing room‘s layout and size, and knowing more of your needs, it’s too hard to provide helpful advice. First step is to create an on line room planner with exact dimensions and include windows/doorway/cupboard. This will help with purchasing appropriately sized furniture and know how to set up room. Define and advise room‘s details, usage (tv?) and office requirements and you should get all kinds of advice. Decor wise: I think the slipper chairs and recliner are not complementary and the recliner will probably overwhelm room. To work with chairs, wall color, and carpet, suggest a lighter couch both color wise and structurally. Take a look at inspiration pictures to help with styles, combinations, tables, accessories before buying anything. decide on the look you want first. Ideas below would have chairs opposite a couch, if tv not needed. Set up though really depends on your room; these are mainly for decorating purposes.

Nice room! I'd leave the walls on either side of the window empty; every space needs room to breathe. And it may just be me but I'd avoid any art that is made to "match". On the wall above the couch, a large horizontal piece of art you love would work, Or try a long narrow picture ledge with a nicely curated collection of your favorite photos and art.
