Which washer is best at removing stains (without pretreating each
Comments (15)I am old enough to recall the day when Shout and Spray-N-Wash was changed to an aerosol can that contained a chlorinated hydrocarbon that could really get out grease stains. It was wonderful to finally have a product that worked with just a little spray. Then they found out the solvents could damage your liver and banned them. The kind of products available were just like before only stronger. They have never worked as well. I have faint grease spots set in the dryer when the products failed me. Wear an apron and get disposable paper bibs for the kids. They really do work. When dh is working around grease he should wear overalls where spots are expected....See MoreBest recommendation for stain pretreatment...
Comments (11)I really like Shout and it has given me great results. Now there's an Advanced Shout which can only be used on laundry items right before they go in the washer. When my dd came home from camp, she had spilled red paint all over a brand-new, very nice white t-shirt. She had used the Tide Stain Pen on it but the pen had run out while there was still a large untreated blotch -- and the area she had treated was still pink. I sprayed it thoroughly with the Advanced Shout and washed it in Tide w/bleach. It came out with NO paint on it -- white again. I was thrilled....See Morepre-treat a composite deck?
Comments (4)No problem Still. I have had good results puting finish on the soft composites. It wont work with the newer plastic coated product of course but say moisture shield/epoch even the dreaded trex take finish very well. It actually turns a weak point into a strong one. The stuff stains up real easy anyway with most anything. They really soak up the finish. I have choice decking on the treads of my outdoor stairway and landing completed with two coats of twp 116 rustic after 5 years or so it looks the same as the day I put it on. The trouble tree that drips sap/slime on that area was a problem before now it just washes off. There is no reason to wait at all or do any prep becides cleaning the surface. Comments (1)There are concrete stains at the big box stores, but I suggest you contact the technical reps from those manufacturers to find out how to prepare the previously stained concrete before applying the next stain. It's likely the old stain will change the color of the new stain. Or you could simply apply Concrete Paint for outdoor concrete patios. I have never had any problem with peeling when this has been applied to my patio....See MoreCavimum
