Yes, it will. But be prepared for a stiff installation price, because the installer's going to have to either make absolutely certain the floor is dead flat after burying the wires, or he's going to have to spend alot of time with the tile keeping it flat afterward. This would not be a job for just any installer. Rectified porcelain gets set like stone, and between that and the square edges, it's extremely unforgiving. Walking in bare feet, you can feel as little as 1/64" in height difference from one tile to the next. Problem is you can see it, too. This is something you want to make sure you have someone who really knows what he's doing. Here's a couple of pics of a rectified porcelain front entry:

Prior to our 07 remodel, we had cork floors in kitchen, DR, entry and adjoining powder room for 18 years. I loved this floor! We didn't treat it with much care and didn't receive care information when the cork floors were installed. So, they received a far amount of water when washed, no added finishes or refinishing. We also have a 22 pound dog who managed to scratch up a lot of woodwork around window areas. The floors held up well. If you'd look close (like eyes a foot away), you could see many scratches from a variety of sources. The excess water caused some seams to curve up a little (only noticeable with bare feet). I really wanted to put in new cork floors, but, got talked out of it by a KD who said colors/patterns weren't right for our new look. We put in porcelain tiles and standing on them hasn't yet been a problem. I probably don't stand on them for more than 90 minutes at a time. If I were to put in cork again, I'd use the floating kind and panels or planks. When replacing the old cork floor, everyone was predicting big problems if we had to deal with glued down panels. The old floor came up easy because no glue. Cork is much more forgiving on uneven subfloors than tile. It took about a days work to even out the subfloor for tile (involved replacing some plywood and a lot of sanding). One of my friends just put in a high end glued down cork tile and they now wish that they had gone with the floating option.

A friend of mine has heating coils under all her floors. She said that it takes time to get used to this type of heat. Most of us are used to turning up the thermostat to get the heat to "kick on". But with subfloor coils it takes a long time to heat up all of the floor mass before the floor mass can then adequately radiate heat to warm up the room. From what I remember reading back when I was looking into this . . . you end up spending more money/energy with this type of heating system. I like to turn down the thermostats when we aren't home all day and then inch them up a tad to make the furnace turn on when we get home. You can't really turn the heat down with these floors because if they cool down they take a while to recover. Correct me if I have this wrong. People say stone floors are cold. They are no cooler than the wood floors in a home. They may feel cooler . . . but they are no more cooler. It's physics.

Just took the width measurement of the dining table I am storing -- 44 inches -- can't get the length without major moving-things-around right now, but it was fairly long with all the leaves in place -- each about 15 inches -- it can get fairly long. I'd doubt I'd use all the leaves more than once every five years. It comes with six, not eight, chairs. Dad gave it to me before moving because he was moving in with his lady friend in VA, and she already had a full set of the larger furnishings. I think he was attached to it because Mother had really liked it (she passed away in2001), and because she'd gotten the chairs re-covered with a really neat embroidery pattern. (Which I also like, but I noticed one of them is hopelessly stained just now.) As for relatives: I've asked my brother since he owns two homes and his style is similar enough, but he has no need of new furniture. My nieces are decidedly contemporary, and the one goes with a totally Floridian (and pink, where her husband lets her get away with it) taste style. Other relatives such as cousins and all live too far away that even if they wanted this, they wouldn't want to pay for transportation. Dad passed away last year, and my brother doesn't have any strong emotional ties to this set. The table is great -- It is a bit darker (a lot darker - sort of a mahogany cherry-wood) than I really want in the dining room, so all my options are still on the, ahem, table re the dining set. I could still make that dark wood work, however. I've seen the prices of quality furniture around here!
