What a pretty view you have. No, I don't think it looks like the 90's at all. I think it's fine, nice natural looking blind. It's a lot of window covering on that wall because you have a lot of windows on that wall. Are you putting some furniture, a tall potted plant or something in front of the double windows (where the outlet is)? That would break up the look a bit. You have to have something there, obviously. What would you want that would be better?

I think your blinds look fine. My experience is that I often am *shocked* when there are major visual changes in my environment but then I calm down when my eye has become used to the new look and almost invariably I like it. I had a few major flipouts when I did a gut remodel and had to be talked down from the ledge by my designer.

I have blinds in my high rise condo that are needed to block the glare in the morning because of my eastern exposure. Since they are down for a specific limited time period, I just deal with the reality that any blind is not going to be as aesthetic as my beautiful unobstructed views which I have when the blinds are up.

You might have the same visual issue since you have a gorgeous open light filled view from your windows and any blind would be a visual obstacle. It doesn't appear that you need the blinds for privacy so wouldn't they be up most of the time anyway. FWIW, my blinds are complete innocuous cream fabric of some kind which are theoretically not completely opaque but they still completely change the look of my unit during the time period when they are down and I pull them up as soon as the glare and strong sun isn't an issue

Personally I would have them resized to fit inside the window casings.

If the tops are soft, you could try folding them under using yarn or string - to see if they are just a bit too long. If it works for you, and the blinds still work, get some thread in the right color and -tack them.

They look good to me and seem to be providing good shade without blocking the view too much. They go nicely with your floors and add some texture.

Jessica, They look great. However i am noticing the same issue i have with mine. The valance and the return dont totally line up and connect. i an trying to figure out if that is just normal….. with all blinds regardless of make.

The mechanisms and the rolled up or pulled up blinds have to be somewhere. Even if you had the kind that fit within the trim that has to go somewhere as well. It is probably just the newness of the look that is throwing you. They look spectacular, nice choice!
