I bought one grafted early this year. It has not grown well so far. I have had bare roots just sit there before and then take off the next year. So I would not put much weight on my brief experience with it. Looks like a beauty in pictures.

Kristine, I planted this in the spring, and it has produced about a half-dozen blooms. It's just a wee plant at the moment, but the blooms were all 3" or more (and will get bigger). They last a week on the bush at least. They coloring is very stunning at first, and they do fade. I've not had mine long enough to say much more about it, but the blooms supposedly get up to 6" wide and it can handle really hot temps (maybe I should move mine now that I think about it haha). Mine has had a little powdery mildew in its location, but I didn't spray and it grew out of it just fine. Mine had slight fragrance--but I wasn't expecting much in its first season. It's a bare root from Edmunds (grafted, I believe).
