Remove new solid stain from deck!

Aria Blanc

I just had my deck painted yesterday with a Behr solid stain and it just doesn't look like the result we wanted, nor something we want to live with. I am hoping to strip it off and apply a different semi solid stain that is also better for the wood.

A couple questions if anyone has experience

1. We only painted 24 hours ago, is it too soon to begin sanding or stripping? It feels mostly dry but a little gummy/sticky. (or not sure if it's maybe even easier to sand or strip at this early stage?)

2. Should I begin trying to strip with chemicals vs. maybe renting a floor sander? I've seen a lot of mixed information about whether stain strippers will even work on solid stains.

Thanks for any input here!
