Allure Ultra or other brand? Vinyl Plank Flooring over Particle
Comments (3)Particle board has it's place. There's nothing smoother with less telegraphing for veneer application s a high grade of particle board. It's also the manufacturer approved choice for a laminate counter substrate. But, as a subfloor it is crap. It needs to be removed in every area of your home. Not just the wet ones....See MoreTried “Naturally Aged Flooring” brand wood vinyl planks?
Comments (21)Millworkman: So, I am no longer using my Husband's sign on. He asked me not too. this is what NAF say's in the inspection report: In response to the warranty claim filed on your behalf, NAF contracted an FCITS certified independent inspector. To ensure the unbiased outcome of an inspection, NAF does not contract NAF employees, retail flooring store employees, contractors, installers or any other related business employees to perform our inspections. So, I find out that the inspector doesn't even have NWFA cert and he also works for a Flooring company in Federal Way, WA. Seems pretty deceptive to me....See MoreAnyone heard of Gaia SPC flooring?
Comments (393)Beau Monde Fine Floors, WPC stands for Wood Polymer Composite so yes it has wood chips in it so it does contains formaldehyde. I have small kids and they like to crawl and play on the floors all day long so better off no chemical whatsoever on the floors is best. Also my house has many windows which the floors will be expose to the sun a lot during summer so if the core is not solid, it will get warp easily that's why I preferred no wpc. The thing I don't like about Gaia Floors is that they said on their website how their Black Series is "Solid" core when it is not. You can literally use your fingernail and slightly pressed onto the cut side of their sample board and you will ding it immediately. That just to show how soft this floors is. I was almost buying into their advertisement about how luxury and solid core their floors are..luckily, the salesman I was working with knows his stuffs. I would be upset buying this thinking it's solid core when it's soft core. I wouldn't want to pay premium for something that is cheaply made and no quality as this....See MoreHas anyone bought their luxury vinyl plank flooring online
Comments (11)Four years ago, when they were a relatively new brand, we bought Flooret. We were pleased with the product. So much so that we have another project right now that needs flooring. My plan was to just order the exact same flooring from Flooret again. Didn't work out because Flooret changed their design model to one that I now no longer like (painted beveled edges). So, I've been shopping the local flooring stores. There are tons of them (typically called carpet stores). The one negative we had with our Flooret experience that made us stop and think about whether we'd do it again was the delivery process. The delivery truck came with its small forklift and did a drop of the flooring. The closest the forklift could get was in front of our garage in the alley. My husband and I (we're older) had to hand carry the entire order into the house by ourselves--it's heavy. We had the flooring professionally installed, but the installers certainly aren't just sitting around waiting at your house when the delivery drop off is made, so you are on your own. If you plan to do your own install, this is no big deal since you'd be carrying it around anyway. It's going to be easier this time around because we're planning to order from a small, local business. Their warehouse will get the delivery, and our installer will pick it up there....See MoreLizzy H
