Reduce sound into room with glass wall

I moved into an 2 story apartment with a 2nd floor bedroom - part of one of the walls is comprised of 3 glass panels (to overlook the 1st floor; almost like a loft). The problem is sound from the first floor can be easily heard in the bedroom. I did notice that there was a 1/4" gap between the glass and the wall (and the previous tenant had tried to place something into the gap using silicone caulk, but it was sloppy and incomplete). I added a blackout roller shade with side channels to the glass wall; however, there was minimal sound reduction. Adding a curtain will look weird, because the glass wall already has the blackout shade AND another light filtering roller shade in front of the blackout shade. Will closing the gap with neoprene tape (and acoustic caulk) help with reduce the sound? Any ideas to help with minimizing sound into bedroom that is affordable and minimal?
