Is Tide fading my kids clothing?
Comments (23)I had the same experience as Larsi with the Cheer for Darks liquid. I had crazy suds with it! Also with the Tide Vivid liquid. Tide Vivid powder works fine, and the Woolite for Darks liquid also works well. I'd love to give the Cheer HE powder a whirl but have not seen it in my area, including at Sam's Club. I have heard many times that Cheer powder is low sudsing, but hesitate to buy a box as I wonder if there's more to being an HE powder than low suds--isn't HE formulated to work well in less water? I love the Tide Vivid powder for my whites and dish towels, and I use Tide Total Care for nearly everything else. I don't care for the smell much, but it's not so strong that I can't ignore it. :-) I have a box of regular Ultra Tide powder for those times when I need some extra cleaning punch, but I know it's pretty aggressive stuff so I don't use it regularly on everything. Interesting link, Whirlpool Trainee. I may need to check that Tide Coldwater out, though I almost never wash in cold water. Cj...See MoreCharlie's soap fading clothes?
Comments (32)I really really really wanted Charlie's Soap to work for me, but I too found fading. I have used Cheer (I don't know how bad it is, everyone seems to use Tide here) for years and have never had a problem with fading. I am on a well, so we don't get the normal fading that happens over the years like people on city water. They have chlorine added in, which works like a bleach. I love the way clothes smelled and felt using the Charlies, but I have shirts that are 5 years old, washed every few weeks, that still look new. Does anyone have any suggestions as to stopping the fading? It works great on my whites, makes them just beautiful. I may order some more for just them, but I hate having one more thing to clutter my tiny laundry room. Does anyone know why Charlies would fade and Cheer wouldn't? What would be in Charlies that would fade, but not in Cheer? S...See MoreDetergent residue in cloths with Kenmore HE3t and Tide HE
Comments (14)A front loading washer made my life EASIER, not harder! I wouldn't ever go back to a top loader. You have to learn how to use them correctly, just like any new item. But I guess it all depends on whether a person makes the choice to learn how to use their appliances to get the most efficiency out of them. I have no idea why you would think that using a tablespoon of detergent to clean a load is silly. The formulation of detergents in this day and age allow for decreased amounts of detergent. Top loaders use 1/4 to 1/2 the amount that was recommended even 10 years ago. A person used to have to use a LARGE scoop for a regular load-- and the economy sized box of detergent couldn't even be lifted without help! I am sure there are plenty of others on this forum that remember those days :) Please tell me how it is common sense that not enough water is used to rinse properly? If you had researched front loaders and followed the instructions properly, you would find that the decreased amount of water actually rinses MUCH better than a whole tub load of water. That is because the water is forced through the fabic as the drum tumbles and take the soap with it as it does. Compare it to rinsing your driveway off with a hose-- if you don't use a nozzle, the water just runs over the pavement but doesn't rinse it too well but if you use a high pressure nozzle, the dirty water is pushed off of the pavement. I love my FL and love the money I have saved all the way around by using it-- and that doesn't include my time and energy!...See MoreBeloved Tide Victory Boost pods, are now Tide Odor Rescue pods
Comments (18)I think the original Tide/bleach boost pods were discontinued in 2012.perhaps if Tideman sees this he can straighten it out. But remember P$G has had a lot of *originals* lol Take Tide for example, many folks here refer to lets call it **Larsi's Tide* LOL as being the original scent Tide, but there was another original Tide scent, up until the early, (I think 1972) when P$G got it in their heads to reformat Tide and changed its original scent to Larsi's original Scent Tide. I'm sure there are a few of us on this board that can remember the awesome and wonderful scent of the #1 original scent of Tide. This probably has to do with ones age, in my age group the original scented Tide was taken from me in the 70's...some of you younger ones will remember Larsi's Tide as being the original. So where was I going with these thoughts...I haven't the foggiest..LOL...See MoreCavimum
