Sectional would work. How many do you need to seat? I’d say more than 3 or 4 on a regular basis a chaise would be to small go for the full sectional. Otherwise chaise is cozy!!

Ask yourself some questions before you go out and mindlessly buy a sofa or sectional.

What is the function of this room? How many people do you need to seat at one time?

Is the chair from the Florida room in there because you bought too much furniture for that room?

What is the traffic pattern to other rooms and hallway?

The area seems too crowded to me. The diagonals from the fireplace and kitchen counter are ignored by the current sofa placements.

We host a regular group of about 20 weekly. itbis a smallish room, but the main living space. Traffic patterns are following couch lines with the one opening between couches and one on the left as you face the fireplace. The chair is an extra that gets used a lot and moved for the christmas tree. I have to work with what I’ve got house wise, roughly 18x21

The reference to the chaise would be attached to the sectional.

I love my wedge sectional...it makes sitting in the corner so much more comfy. I would never get a sectional with an attached chaise. They might be nice for casual tv watching, but for sitting (especially a crowd) they are awkward and often make arranging the furniture a big problem. You can achieve the same look and comfort with an ottoman that can be moved out of the way when you need to (which also provides another seat).
I'm not suggestion this shape, but you can also customize the shape and have it longer on one side or the other, or offset the wedge. This is from room and board:

I think the wedge sectional in this case will make the seating area a dead end because you will only be able to get to it by the ends.
