Has anyone used Dove wing on kitchen cabinets with Montauk Hanstone

7 months agoI just put a deposit down for slabs of Hanstone Montauk (after nearly going crazy searching for the ”perfect” quartz) and I plan to paint my cabinets SW Pure White. I don’t get a lot of natural light in my kitchen so I also looked at BM chantilly lace for a brighter look. The chantilly lace was really pretty but I preferred the softness of the Pure White. I’ve also seen BM simply white work really well with the montauk. Have you gotten a sample of the Dove Wing? It definitely looks like it would go beautifully with the Montauk but you really need to see it all in your kitchen.
Reeeeeally bad lighting in this pictiure but this is where i think I’m headed…montauk counters, SW pure white cabinets, BM soot (dark navy) for the island and brushed gold hardware.

Comments (10)Dark photo of super white on a white island right after counter installed in my kitchen. Don't give up on the super white. I looked at 5 different slabs before I found one that would work for us. It really varies from a med/dark gray to a swirly white & light gray. Eventually I started calling the fabricators and asking about their super white. If I got someone knowledgeable they would describe it and send a photo. Be very specific about what you want - I wanted it to have some white but nice contrast so the very gray and swirly white/light gray didn't work. The slab we found also has some areas that are almost peach (it is very light, just an accent tone in the background) that I loved with our red birch perimeter cabinets. The stone is called by many names - supreme white, white princess, white fantasy - but asking for white quartzite and sharing some of the names got me the stuff I wanted. Note - I still went to look at the slabs even if the photos were a little off - often they look lighter and whiter in person. Comments (24)I absolutely love my Cosmopolitian White countertops - I have it in my condo with white ikea cabinets and I love the combo. It’s definitely beige, and not grey - my walls are “BenMoore Dove Wing” and it’s looks fantastic I stressed over this so much! But I’m thrilled with the results. My mom put Eternal Statuario (Silestone)in her kitchen and it’s nice with the white cabinets - but I love the subtle contrast of Cosmo White. Naturally we stress because there are so many choices (too many!). In reality a lot of them are nice so just go with your gut and don’t over process, that’s my tip....Looking back, of course I can say that now! I used this quartz in my bathrooms and this is similar to what I’m planning to do with my kitchen next. I see you continued the quartz in the backsplash behind the stove. What did you use for the backsplash behind the sink and desk? Also, what have you found to work best for maintaining the quartz? Comments (7)Used BM Dove Wing a few weeks ago in a bedroom & bath. I love it. It turned out lighter than how it appears on the small paint sample. It has a soft white appearance that does not lean pink or yellow to me. I think it has a very very very light tan/tanish grey look to it. Even with the tan/grey look, I think of it as a "white". It came out looking how I had hoped it would. I used the BM "regal select" product, two coats. I used the same color everywhere (walls & wood). Flat on the walls, semi-gloss on the wood and on bathroom walls....See Morednolan845

4 months agoI do love my Montauk…but Yorkville is such a beautiful Quartz as well! Kitchen is not 100% done yet but here’s a before and after. We do not get a lot of natural light in the kitchen so the brighter cabinets work well.

20 days ago@cristiec: finally the kitchen reno is done and we choose the pearlized subway tile (got ours from Tilebar- way cheaper) since I couldn’t make up my mind- classic vs. trendy backsplash
