Comments (4)Dear Warmfridge, I am with Visual Comfort. I read your story and would like to know more. I'd like to apologize for your experience. It does not sound like the right people got involved in your case. I regret that you ended up using products which were clearly not your first choice for design. We offer a one year written warranty, and stand behind our products forever. From whom did you purchase them? Does the island have a cooktop? Do you still have the fixtures? Please email me at cneal@visualcomfort.com...See MoreMust be no one likes antique brass . . .
Comments (38)I don't like shiny brass unless it's on a musical instrument. My circa 1990's house has it EVERYWHERE. Imagine my husband's surprise when I bought a bunch of shiny brass knobs and cup pulls from my local hardware store. They had filled a huge bathtub with all their discontinued knobs. This thing was almost overflowing. But the price was 2 knobs/pulls for a buck. So I did it. I was searching for a looooong time. I didn't dare check the clock, but several people came by and offered to help, So, my plan was to get solid brass, remove the lacquer and age/darken them. I've found the instructions online. Admittedly, I don't know if all the pieces I bought are solid. So, it's one great big experiment, we'll see how it turns out. I told my husband, if the color doesn't quite turn out, I'll just spray paint them with ORB spray paint and save up for the really good stuff. carrie_eileen I'm so disappointed to hear about Restoration Hardware and their lack of hardware. The store near me closed a little over a year ago. When I got their re-vamped catalog, I assumed it was the furniture and decor style they were changing and nothing else. I didn't realize they were changing everything....See MoreWARNING: Visual Comfort Lighting
Comments (35)May 2016. Have an E F Chapman quartz chandelier in polished chrome that is several thousand dollars installed for about a month. It's turning like a cheap piece of jewelry. I will contact the company this week. Not looking forward to it. Don't have time for it. I'm a designer that goes through a lighting company to order. Visual Comfort is not designer friendly in Tennessee. I have to go through 2 hoops to get this sitution rectified. That is a hardship for this one woman show...and I'm such the cheerleader for the company. I also have Thomas O'Brien pendant lights in brass that I waited 6 months for. They were completely worth it. You'll walk into the home they are in in twenty years and think they were just installed. They are of high quality and timeless....See MoreSatin Brass & Antique Brass Lamps- outdated or still in style?
Comments (18)I would have put the lamps in my storage room (spare bedroom filled with 4 book cases and three 4-drawer putty cabinets) for extra lighting if they were very outdated. I guess I want my home to look nice as I am fixing it up. I like them too much to part with them and keep hoping one day to have a bigger place to have one more room to decorate. I still love the lamps but wish I had white lamps for my guest/exercise room but since these are still nice( bought them last year.... think September 2007), I will make do. SInce I bought the white wicker dresser in that room, I guess I was hoping to make it more white. Should I keep the lamps shades or get white ones? The cream shades really do go well with the brass lamp. I already spent so much on my new Durham Solid Wood Sand White finish bedroom set and now my new air conditioner/heating/compressor unit since my old one just died on me and caused a flood in my home two weeks ago. It was so expensive. I had planned to use the money for hardwood floors but now I can't do that for another year....See MoreAmanda Hazelton
