Moving a hydrangea.

This spring i bought a strawberry sundae hydrangea paniculata. It has done really well but i feel it is planted in the wrong spot. I am toying with the idea of moving it now. i keep reading that fall is a great time to plant trees and shrubs, but they don’t really mention transplanting. I’m thinking it won’t have had time to develop a large root system yet. What wisdom can you share with me. I’d hate to kill it. Of course it is full bloom right now.
