On my end, I'm still happy with the purchase (especially in light of the cost savings), but I have experienced a few issues. 1. The seal (at the base of the freezer where ice tends to build up) has cracked slightly, so I have experienced a minor drip as well. But that is nothing that a little replacement putty can't fix. 2. The hinge on the refrigerator makes a click sound once you get past a certain point. It hasn't bothered me enough to call Marvel though. 3. I guess the last thing is the noise. The refrigerator was pretty quite the first several months... certainly quieter than the posts on Houzz make it out to be. But in the past few months it has started to get a little bit louder. It's not loud enough to be a nuisance when you're having a conversation in the kitchen, but it's a bit louder than it was out of the box. At the price I paid, I would also buy again. But if price were no object, I would probably go for one of the luxury brand names.

I just bought a new one a month ago. I was almost crazy looking at different ones and going over measurements and prices. I looked at the KA and also at the Whirlpool and GE thinking I would get the Whirlpool. Lowes would have to order it so I happened to check this place closer to me, an independent guy that was a Maytag dealer and since they are now Whirlpool he could get me one but he also sold Frigidaire. He had one in stock--just what I needed and it was $400 less than Lowes(for the same model) plus free delivery and haul away of theold one. This ref. makes more ice than any I have ever had.(also has setting for extra ice if needed). It has an air filter inside to keep out odors, sliding, spillproof shelves, also an elevator shelf rolls up/down plus adjustables in the door. Has a meat drawer that you can even set to keep the meat at 32 if need be-this is in the ref. side. The freezer has door shelves and tilt out racks plus baskets in the freezer plus it holds frozen pizza's(Digorno size).This guy also services so I figured I could get him quick if need be--hope not needed! I talked to a couple of servicers before and they said they are all about the same now days. I did go through several on line repair forums reading about fridges and there wasn't that many bad things about Frigidaire. Did read that a few years ago they had some problems but got those worked out now so I hope so. I would think a KA would be good also. Check the repair forums and see if you see many people write in about KA. Hope this helps and good luck shopping. For the money I couldn't have gotten more features than I did with the Frigidaire.

mtrot I don’t know the answer. I try to ask. When I go to private appliance stores I have pulled out my cell phone to look up the model number and it’s reviews and they (salesmen) are insulted. To dig deep you have to know the serial number as well. You look at the serial number on the compressor because if you were to replace the compressor or if the company were to replace the compressor the serial number would change. There are other refrigerators that have bad compressors too. Somewhere on here or on HOUZZ, never sure where I am, there is a large group that talks about refrigerators and you get on there some appliance people who repair refrigerators and they will tell you. Some owners have the ability to fix them. The biggest problem is water. Ice cubes flying out; water not going into the cup. That doesn’t seem to change but I do look to see how old the reviews are. It’s difficult because when you get a review from someone who just bought theirs in 2018 or 2019 and they say oh it’s just beautiful and we like it then that’s not helpful either because they have not witnessed the oncoming problems. There are no reviews that say that we have had it for 10 years and nothing has happened. I think the countries that make these appliances hate America. The site with lots of participation has one title which is “I know I shouldn’t have done it but I bought a Samsung refrigerator and I regret it .” That woman was a great spokes person because we were all together and I was watching each other‘s posts and she had just bought it and we were concerned. Then she wrote back and said that. Samsung is so expensive and looks good but is full of troubles including trying to find someone who will repair it. The Samsung office is rude is not helpful. I have made another rule for myself. If a refrigerator is on sale then I shouldn’t buy it or consider it. If word gets out that there is a very good refrigerator that will never go on sale. It’s like when I bought a speed queen dryer. You could not find one that was made in 2017 that had very good reviews. I ended up finding one that I thought was made in 2018. Brand new configuration. What I really had was one made in 2016.
