Design Dilemma Exterior Paint

Help! Exterior paint color decision

Exterior painting has started and I’m not loving SW Mindful Gray. I was leaning to lighter SW Repose Gray. I would appreciate advice. Also, should I keep my front door black and paint the side lights and all door frame black? Or keep the window frames white with black.

Hi T Lee, I love your house! I don't think you need a lighter color, but I think the issue with the Mindful Gray is that your roof and stonework make it look greenish, at least on my computer screen. You might try a more neutral gray, such as SW Gray Screen; if you have a sample of your stone, you could bring it to the paint store and choose what looks best with it. In any case, be sure to paint a big sample on your house before you decide. I think all black works well for your door and sidelights, white would just be an unnecessary distraction. (You may also need to tweek the undertones of your white trim - ask in the paint store which white goes best with the gray that you select. Good luck, this is a problem that it would be fun to have!

After looking at this picture and researching, does anybody think this color is BM Quiet Moments or is a lighter color than that? The picture when I found it was labed "green and brown bathroom". I would not be opposed to painting my vanity an espresso color or something similar to the color in the pic in order to achieve this look. Thanks again for any and all help...I am in desperate need!

We are finalizing our exterior choices and would like some help. The house is a ranch that we're renovating and expanding. We're currently considering the following options: White board and batten siding, charcoal roof, navy front door, white windows White board and batten siding, charcoal roof, black front door, black windows White horizontal siding, charcoal roof, either of the above two color options We may go with a creamy white or an off-white or even a very light gray for the actual siding color but it would "read" white. We are considering either bluestone or whitewashed brick for the porch floor. Any thoughts on the portico design? Any thoughts on which type of siding would look better (board and batten or horizontal)? Any thoughts on which color scheme would look better? Any other ideas for maximizing our curb appeal?

I think I’m g not sure why i can’t get the first line to delete- oops I’m going to be boring and safe and keep as is- the sides are actually cape cod shingle - the previous owner designed it so when she pulls in she’s home and when she’s in her back yard she’s in her “summer home” - very different but it works - i think there are too many things to think about too quickly for now- trim color, shutters - roof may look too light.

And I don’t know how to edit my comments so I have to keep adding new ones as I think of things, so sorry about that! I’ve looked online at the Newport Blue as an accent color but from what I see it comes out more royal blue than navy. Maybe I can go get a sample today and swipe on the house. He is currently pressure washing and staining will probably start tomorrow so I’m almost out of time!!!

No clue which paint is what? Is it two separate colors currently? Because I like the green tinged gray on the bottom half. I think it looks good.
If you don’t like it ,do you think you’d be happier with plain white?
What about eventually bringing some wood in.
Maybe a wood bench, swing, chairs, planters...

Based on what I see on my monitor, I think it looks great. I normally don't like gray homes but this one is quite pretty.

These pics are helpful; the siding still looks green-gray, but the stone appears to have a pink undertone. If you opt closer to true gray for the siding, you will need a different white. I have SW Pure White in my home and it is not actually "pure" but has a slight yellow tinge; it goes well with the Mindful Gray, but if you choose a more neutral gray, then you want something with a more pink or violet undertone, such as SW Zurich White for the trim.

So your photos all show the completed job with Mindful Gray? I think it looks nice. We're in the process right now of choosing colors with Mindful Gray and Repose Gray top contenders. Leaning toward RG but your MG looks good.
