Look What Came Home w/ Me Last Weekend
Comments (8)Hello Karen....I posted a response on the House Plant forum several days ago, but for some reason, several of my posts never appeared, assuming it's technical difficulties with GW. Anyways, congratulations on your beautiful KQ, superior clone. I, too, have this variety and it grows fast and enormously...mine is so heavy that I had to remove it from the hanging pipes and place it on a plant stand....it was literally pulling the pipes down. Good selection, my friend...and please enjoy!! Fondly, Patrick...See MoreSome police action at our build last weekend
Comments (23)One blessing about our new neighbor and we pray for is that they do move,as his wife indicated they would next year!! We'll keep our fingers crossed. If you haven't seen my other posts about these neghbors, the reason they don't like us is that our property was used by them for years as their private park and playground. They thought no one would ever buy it because it stayed vacant for so many years. We came along and changed all that and they take that personal which is very silly. The one good thing is our everyday entrance on one side of the house is on the far side away from them so the only time we will have to even look at them is if they happen to be coming or going at the very same time we are. Other than that, the back yard fence will block their view to my yard. Our house is raised so they can't look into my windows either. They have no windows on their side of the house that faces ours which I find weird. Oh well, we're grateful for small miracles. They have a very narrow single drive and no garage so when we put up our fence and take occupancy they won't be able to use our back yard to store the kids rocking horse, etc. and won't be able to park on our grass like they do now. He also likes to walk across my back yard (very cheaky) to take a short cut to the time saver up the road!! We will definitely cramp their style. I guess that's why they decided they'd be moving. Yeppie!!...See MoreMy last two weekend paint projects - many pics
Comments (50)Thanks to you all again! Sam, Jenny and I truly appreciate your thoughts. I am so gratified to hear that you like my projects and feel my home is 'warm'. I do love my little house, and am grateful that I enjoy sewing and projects like these, as you can make something that no one else will have, and do it just to your taste. mjsee, I stained the table first, so no exacto knife was used. I just used math and a ruler to create the diamonds, with a soft pencil, which was on top of the stain. So all I had to do was use the black paint to do the harlequins. I did them by hand with a small flat tipped brush and just tried to be careful. I LOVE old things, so as much as I tried for perfection, they aren't all exactly alike, but that works with an old piece of furniture. The faux marbling was quick and easy compared to those darn harlequins! Lisa, (bungalow) you have that right, although I am perusing Craigslist to see what I can come up with for cheap vintage furniture to play with. I may need to scope out the cellar again. :-)...See MoreHoping Citrus survived the freezed last weekend
Comments (5)Jeez. what a shame...I don't know what I would do if I lived in an area where it was not suppose to be that cold with planted trees..So tricky...I wish your trees all the best. Please keep us updated as time goes by..As long as the roots did not freeze, I bet it will come back nice and strong...Hopefully from the grafted portion and not the scion..That tends to happen as the grafted part freezes to death.....See Morenini804
