Would be best to take them in daylight. fori, having taken part in DD's reno I do know how labor intenstive it is to paint cabinets properly. DD & SIL painted them in his Dad's home and later in their own. They have a large garage space (w/ heat) & a good sprayer. I helped with the priming, sanding, & poly stages with the ones for their home. Lots of steps & drying time between but the results were so worth it. I know I'll go bananas during the process, having everything out of order. But I could get through that. I just have to decide if a change is in order. I'm so used to seeing it as it is, I can't be objective. That's why I'd like opinions from the folks here.

@Robin Morris, Im a bit confused between the terminology of "sealer" and "finish coat", but I love the look on your floors! Are they glossy or completely matte. I like the look in broad day light better than at night! Just to make sure, you applied one coat of Bona Birch and then 3 coats of another stain which is Bone Mega? (Looking at your samples picture, bone mega looked darker and orangier...) I'm trying to get my white oak cabinets to have a neutral look as well!

Thank you all for your replies. A little clarification. The floors are already installed. I'm just concerned with having to replace some. Say if the floors in the 168 sqft bedroom (recently installed) start to buckle or I spill a huge pot of hot soup in the dining room and it messes up the floors. Also, I called around and got the price down to $1.29 sqft. @live_wire_oak- I made sure to get replacement value coverage. @SJ McCarthy-Good point about the storage. I was planning to lean them against the wall in my hall closet. I didn't think about needing them to be flat. I have a small walking closet that I could stack them in. I also have an outdoor storage closet with plenty of room but it's not climate controlled.

HU, it means "A pigment containing white lead", It actually dates back centuries when people used liming wax to treat wood and furniture to keep insects away. As of now it means, "filling the grain w/a liming wax or white paint without tinting the wood" The grain is deeper than the surrounding wood surface so the pigment fills in. the trick is sealing off the wood portion without sealing up the grain. an alcohol/shellac mixture is used on the wood to prevent it from absorbing the white, but it still leaves the grain open. I use an analine dye on raw wood, and then the shellac mixture. then the liming wax. then it's buffed so that it looks like this
