New plan- Anything you would change?
Comments (20)This is what someone did with the plan so it's more of a hutch than a desk. I like that, but another option might be to put built in seating instead. Decisions decisions! Either one would work I suppose. Switching the fridge and pantry sounds good so we would still have a break in cabinets. But then, would you make that whole entire area (where the ovens/fridge currently are) into one big pantry? That would be a good sized pantry but then we've removed a good chunk of counter space. Hmm.. As far as the bump outs in the plan, which ones would you adjust and how? I do want to save money but at the same time, I'm not sure it would look right completely flat all the way around... Comments (1)i think that's what our fence is. It's a tight, tiny black mesh with poles you lift up and out to open the "gate"? Ours is from Protect-A-Child, and we have no gate, just lift up the poles. That's fine, would not pay extra for the gate. But we did get the higher fence (48" high I think) and paid a little extra for that....and it was unnecessary. The 42" height would have been fine. A huge bonus with these fences is that they keep leaves, debris and critters OUT of the pool. Very nice!...See MoreWhat design elements would you change for this room?
Comments (17)I think my main concern/top priority would be figuring out a way to wrestle the end table away from the current (former) owners. I think that's what I would be obsessing about right now. I think that end table is an amazing piece (the one between the 2 chairs). It's a stunning space. I would not, personally, change anything, in terms of the architectural features/details. I would bring in a more streamlined sofa and side chairs, probably in a lighter color. Whether light or dark - more streamlined. And I think I might opt to remove the mantle completely, and either leave the brick unadorned, or maybe bring in an unframed canvas. Metal art could be another interesting option. Or reflective metal art... gold, silver, copper, etc. Canvas. Maybe a floor lamp or two. I think I'd leave the tv where it is. But an additional option might be a tv lift cabinet - offers placement flexibility, etc....See MoreHow would you change this hedge design?
Comments (4)Main design issue I see is the rhododendron isn't big enough to balance the other, much bigger shrub at the left corner. (If the pointed conifer were near the right corner of the house it would do that but it is unfortunately just too far away to have that effect). And it's not possible now to catch up to the shrub to the left with a replacement planting where the rhododendron is malingering. So I would take the shrub to the left down (start it over) or out entirely. And I certainly wouldn't add a second, big green blob to that left side - as appears to be happening in the above representation - and throw the planting in front of the house even more out of balance than it is already....See Moresunarakaa
