Jaboticaba and Jamaican cherry

Jamaican Cherry - no blooms to date, very hedgelike cultivar. I understand they are prolific once they start to bear at bearing size, whatever that is ....I'm patiently waiting

3 years later. How is it doing now. Any fruit yet. Most of my citrus trees do not fruit so I am letting them die. I have 1 Meiwa kumquat on Flying dragon in grown that fruits every year. I will keep it as well as 3 d 5 NZL's. The other 2 are freshly grafted 15 months ago and will flower next year. I have friends picking up the 2 juveniles.

I have very broad tolerances (enjoyment actually) in terms of fruit flavor but you can have Muntingia, at least if the several bushes I tried over the years were typical.

Sounds good Harry. I am just too cheap to buy a tree that supposedly grows like a weed. I have tried numerous times growing it from seed but the seedlings always seemed to shrivel up and die for some reason shortly after germination.

Jaboticaba fruits are out of this world. But they don't last long off the tree. Also, the trees also grow very slowly. These two issues I heard were the primary issues with commercial production of jaboticaba fruits.
